Cool looking fish, I can see why they call them snakeheads. They look like a python. Do you plan on eating them? I have heard they are delicious.

I've eaten them before and they are good. I'm just not into cleaning fish anymore, so back they went.

I quit fishing, felt to sorry for the fish hauling them up and letting go again. We are not big fish eaters. Yeah I thought snakeheads were to be killed if ever caught eating or not

I think DNR has changed their stance on that. Besides....removing two is like taking a grain of sand off the beach. These things are here to stay no matter how many are caught and kept. They breed several times per year.

Putting epoxy down on 1/2 of the garage floor today, spent yesterday cleaning it. Need to do now before the heat hits. Then the other 1/2 later, need to move the stuff to the new floor side. Can't haul out cause rain is coming.

Very nice roses!

Wow happy it was "just" food poisoning! I have not had in many years, last time was shrimp bought from a store. I did not touch shrimp for over 20 years after that.
Pretty sure it was from shrimp.

Yeah, DNR changed The wording to strongly encourages harvesting of any snakeheads caught, but isn’t required. Although, they said they most be released where they were caught. Was thinking who is riding around with a fish in the boat with them, for awhile then decides to let them loose elsewhere, but then again idiots like that are how the fish got into the Chesapeake bay and it’s tributaries in the first place.

Agree will never get rid of them at this point, but if enough people fish for them and keep them it can put a big dent in their population. Had a buddy that fished for them he caught like 30-40 kept them all for a fish fry. Need to get the commercial fishermen to go after themm they could just about wipe them out. Look at the rockfish/striped bass those fish were absolutely hammered in the Chesapeake by commercial/recreational fishermen back in the 70-80’s to the point they where hard to find/catch (none around) and a moratorium was put in on them.

I know down in Florida they’re trying to push to get the lion fish commercially popular, like at restaurants.

So I’ve been filling in on the part of the paint prep at work where the stuff goes through a machine that “cleans” it using tiny steel pellets shot in large quantities at high speeds. I come home probably wearing a few ounces of it in my hair, as dust on my skin, and in my clothes. So I was joking I need a 5 ft deep washing machine outside to wash up in, then use big strong magnets to collect the metal to sell. That part doesn’t have anything resembling ac or good air flow, so I literally drip sweat. Forget the girly “ glisten “ I’ve had it drip off my nose! I need to invest in strong light weight clothes that are cool but absorbent.

Love the colored flecks. We used them when the paint we used on the basement floor ended up looking pink. A bag of sparkle fixed that!

We did two coats, one bag of epoxy was for one half one bag for the other half of the garage. Since we did two coats, ended up with two bags of flecks so used them all.
Have another box of epoxy coming., for the other half of the garage. It is neat how they did it. part a and b in one foil bag, roll break the seal mix for about 3 minutes, cut a corner pour in lines on the floor. Worked great! We did the first coat early am, it dried to non tacky by 3ish . so we did the second coat. Can do more coats in a 7 day window.
