I bought one of the big pillows that is like a chair back, to prop myself up while trying to sleep. Got a good nap in on it! Then went to Lowe’s unsupervised, needed a new fan for the ceiling, came home with that, two new rose bushes, a peony, more basil, and mole deterant. I’m up past my bed time, so off to bed.

I spent the morning sleeping in, in between bouts of coughing. Once I got up, I did get my two new rose bushes planted, the two lilac bushes planted, and moved the metal pole I hang the bird feeder from to the front porch so I can hang the hummingbird feeder off it too. There is one hummingbird that likes to buzz me. Hence why I’ve put out flowers for it, rearranged them for ease of access, and now bought it a feeder. Those few tasks would normally only take maybe an hour, with debating just where to plant what, but it took a lot longer, with random pauses to cough, hack, get a drink, pet a kitten, pet a dog, etc.
And on a good note, my second stimulus check came in, so I’m getting pets fixed! One male cat, three female dogs, maybe a fourth female depending on what daughter in law decides. Males are cheaper to get fixed, but there are male dogs around that aren’t ours, so better to get the girls fixed and be sure of no more puppies. Cause Martini got a bit thick, then suddenly lost weight, and is making milk, so I’m thinking she had 1-2 more. They won’t be coming in, and I’ll be getting her fixed pronto, once they are weaned.

First is the Babcock state park

Bit of a side note here... my wife is a Babcock descendant. It seems that one John Babcock was on the losing side in the Revolution, (Loyalist), and ended up on the Bay of Quinte in Ontario. I'd love to find out if she is related to any Babcocks that fought on the Patriot side... she may qualify for DAR status, as well as the UEL she already has.

Net to protect the pond from herons, now a net to protect our fur babies from eagles, hawks, owls. They love running out onto the deck whenever they want to. They are smaller than the rabbits. installed it today

We used to spend a lot of time there when I was a kid, also hiked the trail, camped, saw the leaves changing. Really pretty place@

Finally got the lights back in the pond and got aeriator running. I still need to replace the pump in the plant pond. It trips every breaker I plug it into. Put a net ladder in so small critters can climb out, squirrels have been going after the water lily flowers!

Killed my old phone for good today. It fell at the store. But, I got two more goslings. I believe they are Toulouse. Sweet things that follow us humans around. Our bigger goose is an embeden, looks like it’s going to be a male. Forming a wide bump at the base of his beak, his voice is breaking like a teenage boys when he honks.

The yard birds get to explore a new section today. We humans are on guard duty.

Got a new pump installed in the lily pond and relocated the camera for a better view.

I’m so bad. I’ve wanted a hedge of roses around the circle of the drive, but have had bad luck with roses in the past, so was reluctant to try it. Well, I ended up buying three rose bushes, half off at Lowes!, and I’ve got all but the newest one planted . So in addition to the big one we already had, ive now got a pale yellow, a very nice orangish pink, and a mauve pink.
I’m settling back down now after dad called to wake me from his room. My daughter in law made sea food, he got food poisoning, and I was in a bit of a panic when he called but I didn’t hear him on the phone. I was expecting to have to rush him to the ER for his heart, much prefer to need to push mint tea, pepto, Benadryl, and activated charcoal. For those who ever need to know, Benadryl is also an anti nausea, mint soothes the entire gastric system, and charcoal absorbs the toxins. Stop the nausea, soothe the system, and then stop the toxins.

Putting epoxy down on 1/2 of the garage floor today, spent yesterday cleaning it. Need to do now before the heat hits. Then the other 1/2 later, need to move the stuff to the new floor side. Can't haul out cause rain is coming.

Wow happy it was "just" food poisoning! I have not had in many years, last time was shrimp bought from a store. I did not touch shrimp for over 20 years after that.
