@JamieB I didn't know that about garter snakes! From now on I will be careful when I pick them up. I thought the only thing they could do was put off a nasty smell. I think this snake is the same snake I got from one of my neighbors about 2 yrs ago as her hubby has a fear of all snakes! They aren't real fond of rabbits on their property either but sorry I can't get the rabbits to just stay on my property

It’s so mild a venom as to be like a mosquito bite. Same for hog nose snakes, but hog noses aren’t poisonous, and rather boop you with snout over a bite, and then they have to chew the venom in.

Internet’s been down, sorry I’ve been MIA. And I’ve caught a bug, again, feels like standard upper respiratory infection, which I haven’t had in years! I used to get them every year, twice a year, found they were being complicated by allergies, which I suspect triggered this one. Allergies get the immune system over reacting to that so a minor virus or germ can sneak in. I’m taking the appropriate over the counter meds, and will be happily sleeping as much as I can this weekend, with Monday off as well!

Yeah, I could not believe how fast he could turn in the water. I scared him pretty good with a shotgun. Currently have 2 live traps set with sardines. I have only seen 1 other in 26 years of ponding.

Both are in West Virginia and are about 20 miles apart with the New River Gorge Bridge in between . First is the Babcock state park and the second is cathedral falls but you'd never want to go there from most of the pictures i have seen of it.

Getting the flooring I bought 4 years ago, installed in the basement! YEAH part of my LIST of things I wanted the contractor we hired to do. I can do it, but.........................now in the mode of hire hire hire, a lot easier on the bod!

They have been working here for almost 3 weeks, catching up and adding after years of working on rentals and letting our home slide.

Lots of rain here too, I think this is the first weekend that isn’t heavy rain in a month. I feel crudy, I’ve got things I want to do, but am too sick to do them.
