The last time we were here at the boat, we were fighting a rain leak, after the boat was polished and cleaned we had a leak that ran into the bath. So I sealed everything I could reach easily. Except the rub rail. When we were still here it was still leaking, ((garden hose check)
So we come back I expect wet, towels, wet floor, maybe even mold, nope bone dry! go figure. And it rained a inch the night before we got here.

Will do another garden hose check, but if the rain did not come in, something I did must have worked eventually. We discovered the leak after a hard rain.

OW beautiful here!

@addy1 darn leaks can really mess w/your mind. We had one in our bedroom skylights and sometimes it would leak when it rained and other times not. The wind was the reason it showed up off and on. Finally had the guys come out and redo the skylights and no problem since. The guys that built the house put them in wrong! Same problem w/the downstairs ones and they got fixed too.

Finally got all my water lilies and lotus potted up. Ended up with 30 lotus cuttings and 50+ seedlings. I potted up 40 to sell and just stuck the rest in around my cattails. Not sure how many lilies, I bought 50 containers and ended up using some of my old ones! Now I just need to get everything growing so I can rehome them. The lotus seedlings did great this year. I notched the seeds, put in shoe boxes with water and transferred to 6oz plastic cups with a little litter and water. They already have tiny tubers and 2nd grow points.

And the battle is on: aphids vrs humans. So far I’ve struck the bigger blow, wiped out the ones I could on the two pepper plants, next is the purple basil, and then I need to mix up a soap water mix and spray all the plants. If I can clear them up early, I can then do companion plants to prevent further infestation. But right now, I’m under attack.

worked on finishing the pondhouse movie night projection rail system; now for a warm night in which to test everything out before opening it up to guests! Despite multiple redesigns, my plan still had to be altered as I have to have the projector system work with my umbrella mechanism and the screen rail system, all without having to dismantle anything! Should work (famous last words!)

And I started finishing my patiocam's camo fake rock, with tips from YouTube's fake rock experts. Still a work in progress and I'm not sure it'll be satisfactory but I have one more layer of painting to go. I was going to alter an actual planter for this but thought a fake rock on the patio looked more natural and was easier to accomplish.

Now on to the still-long list of 'pond things to do' before summer hits. Fixing the screen roof system needs doing before the skeeters show up.

Wishing I had bothered to put window screen cover on ponds. Figured I could scoop out a few seed pods. Didn't plan on 60mph winds for 12 hours. Couldn't even see the water in either pond for the leaves, seeds and pollen.

I take my 36 inch round net and just put it so about a foot of one edge is just underwater and then lay the pole down and tie it in place basicly let the circulation push the seed heads into the net every so often empty the net let the pond do its own dirty work

I came out this morning to find my seat occupied. All the kittens were curled up together, right where I sit. They can’t reach the area the adults feed, so I’ve got a dish for their food at the foot of my seat, and my seat is slowly getting covered in random stuff.
Sigh, I’d hoped to maybe get the pond liner in this weekend, but weather has once again foiled my plan, with threats of rain. The friend that was going to come help didn’t show either, he ended up buying a boat, and that took longer than he’d planned. I just need his muscles for an hour or so, and then someone to keep dad out of my way long enough to get stuff done with out him trying to “ help” and then taking over, but running out of energy 20 minutes in. Love him to death, but he’s not very good at letting others do their own projects how they want.

You mean our fur babies? lol We are buying some netting like on the pond to put over our deck, up high, to keep any aerial attacks from happening when they are outside. We have spotted a few eagles, not often, but do have hawks, barn owls etc. They are smaller than the rabbits they normally catch.

We moved this piece of our couch over to the windows so Lil Bear could have a good look out, he loves it! Even takes his naps there so he can wake up look around and go back to sleep. He sure can spot the deer, ground hogs, rabbits etc.

Watched NASCAR unveil their new cars today. Really liking how they look. Excited to see them race, but that won't be until next February.
