Poor little kid and glad you made him that video to show him the fish are doing just fine. Yep I can here your accent sissy. So that's what people from Pennsylvania sound like. Wonder if I will sound like I have a western accent?

Come on everybody, lets make winter videos of our ponds with our voices narrating, that would be soooooo coooool!

I prefer to let my pond speak for itself: The sound of water flowing. Along with the birds tweeting in the background when its warm out. Also, traffic.

I'm actually watching all of my 2014 pond videos right now and I sure do miss those sounds (not traffic), along with all the plant life, and warmth! I made it from October to now pretty easily but I'm starting to get a little impatient.

If I did a video this weekend, it would be solid ice on my ponds, or so it would appear. The stream is running and so is the goldfish bog, and I have a heater that has kept a hole just the side of the heater at the base of the stream. My voice sounds very strange to me right now with this cold. Going to be a busy day tomorrow, maybe I will narrate a video on Sunday! I loved hearing Sissy's voice. It was very cute how you did that, especially since I know you did it to let your great nephew know your fish were fine. My ice is white, not clear at all. Maybe the moving water, or more likely when it turned cold and ice formed, the wind was blowing, making the ice hazy. No clear ice here this time, but I've seen clearer ice than what I have this year. Really neat your could see your fish swimming around under the ice. How thick is your ice, Sissy? My ice seems to be heaving and going higher and higher!
Just a little warning to people with frozen ponds that turn on an air bubbler. I did that one time, with my big aerator, and it was lifting the ice, and it would have lifted it until it cracked and came crashing down on the pond. I was glad I was there to hear it lifting, and to get an opening before I turned it back on. If there is a hole for the air to escape, you're fine, but don't turn on a bubbler under a solid sheet of ice, even if it's thin ice. :)

Awe that is just so sweet, and I am sure you must just love him!

My nephew is all grown up now, but he still comes every day off to visit his favorite auntie and play with the puppies. My nephew has been hanging around here since he was just a small child, and he loves to come and have coffee and read the paper with me in the summer and hang out by my ponds. He is also getting to be a very big help, cause he comes and helps out raking and cutting lawn and helped me put fence together as well, Now he comes and sits in my greenhouse in winter and we have coffee there and soak up some sun and then we always like to take puppies for walk when he is in town.

Yeh was warm here today and all the ice melted off the pond with the warm sunshine .But it is getting colder tonight again .We lost electric from 4 am until 7 am and that had me worried .There was an accident out on the highway here and guessing the did in a power pole .They say by sunday 45 degrees again here and then 47 degrees with rain showers monday .But on the other side of us it says they are going to get icy rain .All along the mountains all the way up past NJ .My son has been working overtime towing people lately so his new tow trucks are getting a work out .My sons new flat bed .It looks like his is ready for Christmas :)

19°F right now. May see nearly 30° tomorrow, then back to the teens for a couple days. I see 10% chance of snow every day for the next week, but haven't heard of any of these being something that would accumulate, thankfully.
