Be safe Addy- 14F here this morning again and that freezing rain coming tomorrow. My arthritis kicked up bad yesterday so I'm hoping this isn't going to turn into a major storm.

Sleet, freezing rain, wintry mix is what my forecast says for today. Going to hover at 32/31 degrees. Wasn't supposed to start until this afternoon, but already had sleet on my deck this morning first thing. Not bad, and sure hope the rest just passes me by. I want to be able to make it to work tomorrow, and not have to worry about slip sliding around. Will take the truck, so need to load the 5-80# sand bags into the bed this afternoon.
Have this new little one, Kea, sleeping next to me so it's hard to think of doing anything but sitting right here all day. Believe I will cross stitch instead of taking down my Christmas tree. :)

I have hard time getting away from sleeping little Rio. They are just so snuggly aND darn cute! Little Rio was very "Gremlin" last night, up all night terrorizing house and making mess with all her toys scattered everywhere. Then she barked almost the whole time I was trying to watch news last night and get to sleep, demanding all my attention. Now she is sleeping nice aft er a long hard night monstering....

Have a safe trip home addy and it looks chilly there now.
Wet here but tapering off to some dry so I can get out and take a hike.

32 degrees here...but of course this brief respite from the cold has its price. We are supposed to get sleet/snow/some kind of muck later on today. It was nice go to outside and not have the air hurt my face, though. :)

We are HOME! don't realize how much you miss your real home until you are home! I don't care that it is cold, snow on the ground, (some) ice storm coming, it is home!

Fed the birds, checked the pond over 5 inches of ice on it, need a longer drill to see where the ice stops. checked the bees, tapped the boxes, I could hear buzzing inside real loud with two, softer with two, so for sure we have two doing great hives, possibly all 4 doing great. We need a 50ish temp day to check the cluster then we will know how well they are doing.

Pulled anything we were concerned with freezing over night, ow junk still in van, let it stay....................

Dead batteries two cars, no biggy.

Ice storm coming, freezing rain, they were pre-salting all the roads as we drove in. Currently 37 clouding up

We just started with the hives last summer, this winter is a what do we do winter, to make sure they survive. Never knew bees were so much fun and work.

When we drive from here to SanDiego or thereabouts it is about 1300 miles and yes it is a long drive. We usually stop a lot in our camper tho to break it up some and see the sights.

Our weather is just sitting out there now doing nothing and it's almost up to 50 which made for a nice walk and a good drag the rake around the yard for mole hills. My hubby keeps insisting he is going to murder them all but I don't see much action yet.

Same for us only just stay on I-5 there and back unless we want to take the slow winding road 101 on the coast. Oregon has such pretty beaches.

Temps were comparatively nice today. We actually got to around 32°F. Its amazing how nice that can feel after dealing with the recent weather. Back to the teens for a couple days. There are still rumors we may get close to 40° next Saturday.

Same here JB. It was beautiful out. No wind, partly sunny and about 35. However, the next 2 days a different story. -9 for tomorrow night. Bitter cold for the next couple days then warming up. Same 40F expected for us by Sat. Heat wave!

I drove 101 from California to Vancouver island, many moons ago. The beginning of a 7000 mile two month road trip I took in my Datsun station wagon with my dog, camping. Drove up into Canada, saw some glaciers, stopped where ever it looked neat. My present to myself for graduating from college, with my masters, knowing once I started my job, freedom was over..............
101 was so beautiful, I stopped at a lot of the beaches on the way up, would see a small sign, camping, pull off for the night.

Well our ice storm is right now a bust......... 32 and it is raining, but does not appear to be icing up, real bad. Metal furniture is iced, side roads are icing a little. Which is good, they did salt all the major roads. If it stays this was we will go out to replenish our stores of food.

Pond holding steady at 41
