I can handle zero with -15 to -20 wind chills, but no thank you for real temps that far down there! Yikes, Mike, how do you handle that?!?
Well, it was a 3 dog night. Seems we only have one, I snuggled close to my wife and turned on the electric blanket. :D

I had the weirdest dreams last night! I went to bed with a slight head ace I think from all the air pressure changes yesterday. Temperature swings were extreme yesterday with a quick short Chinook wind that blew in as fast as it left. Then I was up in middle of night to see a blizzard going on that is now gone but left big snow drifts for me to shovEl! "

We only got a little dusting of snow so far and that was back in November and it really did not stay long wind blew it away within minutes .Temps here are supposed to go back up to 40 degrees after today and then drop back down monday with an icy rain in the morning to just rain after .So far so good .But at least the sun is out nice and bright .I guess in a way I am lucky my heat pump in the winter is at the back of the house so the ambient air is warmer so heat pump does not have to go into defrost mode as much .Still trying to find a spray foam contractor around here to do the basement walls to make the house even warmer .Only ones here are up in Roanoke and don't want to come this far .

Just finished shoveling shown off deck and there was like a foot of snow to shovel again! Now the greenhouse is like a igloo and snow is piled half way up the outide walls, making things extra toasty and warm!

And the highway to Brooks was closed overnight cause blizzard caused big accident.

-2°F right now, 2"-4" of snow coming later today. We seem to be in a pattern. This will be the 4th snowfall in the last 6 days with multiple inches. I'm so tired of shovelling the driveway :(. Times like this I wish I had a shorter driveway.

Then again, maybe not. I used to say that and then one day the city came in and widened the road and took 15 feet off our yard.

funny thing is jb I have always had long driveways and don't mind that part but what I hate most is when the snow plows go by and all your work for nothing .Then you do it again and what happens but snow plow will go by again and by then you are fed up with the whole thing .

One winter we had a herd of deer walking on it. We will be back to the cold on Sunday, winter mix coming in, so we are leaving a few days early to beat it.

3 Fahrenheit right now and dropping off fast tonight to -15 Fahrenheit! Greenhouse all cosy and warm with snow piled high on outside edges. That really makes a very big difference too. Things are also way warmer now that peak of roof is closed off into attic (with clear plastic ) for winter as well.
I don't no why I did not do that earlier! I used to have such a draft coming from roof that I had to put blankets over the top before when it was super cold just to hold heat in.
Now too I also discovered when I pUT the snow I shoveled off path on the top of the ice cap on bottom pond that made water much warmer and now there is much larger opening down in that pond . Last winter there was a foot of ice on bottom pond. That is Poppy trying to figure out how to walk on bottom pond with that big snow cap in the way!
