What is your weather like ... today

Well it's finally getting cold here.
Pretty mild winter so far, imo.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and new years eve.

We are dipping down this week, 55f today 20 by thursday. We are closely watching the storms if we see one getting ready to hit 95 we will be in the car driving right away north. They have no snow removal on 95 in the southern states. During one drive they had it closed down due to snow all sorts of truckers stuck at rest stops waiting it out, we hit it just as they opened up.

Be careful addy because they don't have a clue how to drive in snow ,but they still try ..Poor King Arthur wants to go for a walk but it is raining and they are calling for thunder storms .It is a nice 53 degrees out .Funny thing is the King wants to go for a walk but had to wrestle him out the sliding doors just to go pee in the back yard .Does he just figure it is raining in the back yard only .

Minus 20 Fahrenheit right now. That would be minus 29 Celsius! Topped up ponds last night with hose running warm water from bathroom, before bed just to keep the thick ice down in bottom pond. Plus I sleep better on really cold nights knowing the pond won't freeze over too hard then! Plus that little glass of very dark red wine puts me out like a light! I could never be alcoholic cause wine makes me very sleepy.... alcohol always does that to me.

Here are our temps for the week: Today - 37 for high (already reached that, it's heading down, right now 31...) and 12 low; Mon - 23/22; Tues - 30/8; Wed. - 7/-1!!!; Thurs. 24/16; Fri. 22/13 (and sunny Woohoo!!!); Sat. 25/20; Sun. - 32/22; next Mon. 35/25. They changed it all up since I last checked, as those mid 30's were at about Thurs. last time I looked. Boooo .... going to get REALLY cold and frozen here this week. I'm heading outside now to drop the skimmer pumps, so if the power goes off, I won't have to worry about them freezing. And, since something is STILL tripping my breaker, going to shut off all the pathway lights. Maybe it's one of those cords that is shorting out every now and then. I love those lights, but more important to keep pumps running in the ponds.

I turn everything off except the bare essentials when it is that cold, just in case cause lights are just not needed if it is that cold cause nobody will be outside for sure!

I deleted that last post cause it sounded like I was taking little Rio out in extreme cold, which I never would, but even today just walking out the door a few steps to the warm greenhouse is just too cold for her, that ice cold air just makes her sneeze and I just can't expose the baby to that extreme cold. Park is canceled for big puppies too till the weather is warmer. Even the wild animals are no where in sight today!

Minus 36 Celsius with the wind chill factor!!!! Rio is wrapped in blanket in her bed right now!

lol Missy will be jumping up and down, grabbing her toy to get our attention, posturing to go outside, if it is raining she gets as far as sticking her head out of the door and plants her 4 feet backs up, done............... She will wait forever unless desperate to avoid those rain drops.

That is why we watch the weather real carefully, even if the roads are bone dry that road is darn dangerous, people are idiots when they drive. On the way down we watched a car flip 4 times, it missed the fact all the traffic was stopped for an accident ....luckily it stopped before it came over to our side of the road.
If there is any white stuff we wait it out.

almost 7 pm and it is still 57 degrees .Looked at 6 houses today and think Mikes daughter is liking the one with 2 houses on the property for 42 thousand .Told her to offer 35 thousand and go from there .

That is so cheap for a house that I am thinking maybe someday having a house down there when I have had enough of the weather here! !

Perfectly clear blue skies, high winds with temps in the mid 30's today. Pond is perfectly clear but sadly the bottom is covered with the last of the cypress leaves and needles. For most of the season I kept up with the daily leaf scooping. That is until ill health put me down for almost a month. Guess I'll get what I can off the bottom then wait for the spring cleaning to get the pond up to snuf.

I recall a long ago field exercise where it rained night and day. When we finally halted for the night a fellow sergeant and I grabbed a piece of waterproof canvas and covered ourselves up. Yes the ground was soaked but so were we. The canvas simply lessened our misery. Ah those were the days!

Miserable weather.

About 4" of snow this morning, which I don't like, but no big deal in comparison to temps.

-5° right now, windchill could hit -30° tonight, and windchill will stay below 0° all week.

Snow coming next three days starting tomorrow Maybe two inches on tuesday. But then back to sunny days, just cold.
