Winter's arrived. Some snow fell last night, more tonight, and more Monday night. We're also in a stretch of cold weather. Windchill might be below 0° until Thursday. It's 34° now but will be dropping soon. Tomorrow's high temp is 5°. :cold:

Now see I like the snow but not that cold of temps Jb. I like warm snow at about 32F.

There is a lag in the rain today but it will be back tomorrow w/a vengeance bringing us rain in the inches. Possibly 1 - 3" and for us that is a lot cuz our rain usually comes in lesser amounts as drizzle 24/7. Big time amounts all at once are nasty.

Fridget Cold and more fluffy light snow falling. Temperature last night was minis 33 with the windchill, and I rushed home late from work and remembered that I forgot to plug pond heater in. So last night ponds were frozen pretty good with just little holes where water flows from pond to pond.
.heater now plugged in and things are looking better....

this is a shot of middle pond with red floating 1500 watt heater. Bottom pond is covered with ice shell but water still flowing good between all three ponds.

Mr & Mrs. Clause and crew are getting warm and dry in front of the woodstove. More rain tomorrow and temps in upper 60s! Haven't seen any ice on the ponds yet but with the forecast of a high of 20 for Thursday I'm guessing that will change. I still have everything running but will shut down pumps and filters on Monday and install the heavy duty heaters. I got the Christmas light display powered down today so it will be dark out there, I hate this time of year!

Flood warnings here but only for the lower areas below us near the river. Rains are coming soon to wash us away! Hope our gutters hold up w/all that water coming at once.

Raining and 44 degrees ,but I guess the rain makes it feel chiller than it is .Could not finish staining stuff in the basement because it is damp out and stain stays tacky .Don't want to ruin my hard work with a bad stain finish

Rained off and on all day today, then got VERY foggy on our way home from St. Louis and Cabelas store. BF and I both had gotten each other clothes (me Under Armor sweatshirt and jacket and him Muck boots) that needed to be exchanged for different sizes. He wanted the more expensive Muck boots, so all in all, we came out with money in our pockets from what we originally spent! Score!!!
Temps here were in the 40's this afternoon, but going to go downhill from here, it appears. Temps only 20 high/low one day next week, and getting down to close to zero F a couple of nights. But, back up to the 30's by next weekend. I can handle that! Was super happy the heavy moisture came today in rain, and not snow! I think I must have gotten at least an inch. Ditches are full and flowing. It's like mini rivers along the back roads. LOL

It was funny how it worked out. I had paid just over $100 for his Muck boots. He needed bigger size, but wanted the much more expensive style. He got me two Under Armor sweatshirts, they were both on sale before Christmas, but one never came in, still on back order. He returned one, and got the other cancelled. So, the two UA shirts I got were right at $99 tax included, so I bought those to replace the $106 credit for his boots, since he said he'd pay the extra on the boots. Then I got a $20 cert for my order on next order, which I promptly gave to him. We both got "employee discount", which didn't matter on my purchase, already on sale, but did BIG TIME on his order. His boots alone started out at $190, and he got them, UA long underwear ($85 reg price) and a calendar, all for less than the boots themselves. Score! AND, he got another $20 off on next order, which he was going to use to buy the UA long underwear top (they were out of them, but said he could order on-line), so with the employee discount, that will be $63, less $20 .... SCORE double!!! Yep, I love getting good deals like this. Gift cards are the way to go, especially if people wait until after New Years, it seems.
