And you are wondering why she is getting bigger with all you feed her and spoil her . Also bob I found great koi food that is all natural on pet solutions .com out of ohio -blackwater cool season 5lbs for 18.49 and if you keep it in a cool dry place it is good for awhile .They also sell summer food 14.99 for 5 lbs .I like it has all natural ingredients and none of the fillers and has krill in it which is great for koi .I bought the 5 lbs and I took half and my neighbor took half ,so we shared the cost .The fish will not produce as much waste with a better quality of food so there won't be as many water quality problems .No fillers in this foodAs of today I would say she is very close now to 5 pounds. She suddenly has been on a big growth spurt and her legs are much longer now. I think she could get as big as ten pounds, but hubby says she will get twice that. All I can say is that she is noticeably bigger than her sisters now.
Mine, too, Bob. Saw all of them couple of days ago, but tonight the temps are plummeting, going down to 10 degrees with wind chills close to or below zero. Brrrrrrr .... I guess we had it pretty good throughout December, and it is almost January ... I think I was secretly hoping the really cold stuff would pass me by this winter. The weather in Northeast Indiana have been really nice for this time of the year (lows around 20 degrees F, and highs around 45 degrees F). The Koi are doing well so far this winter. I walk out everyday to check on them, and they are just chilling down near the bottom of the pond.
