Glad to hear some of you are getting your lovely rain and you can keep it! I have my sunshine back and I wish to keep it here. Hoping for some global warming they keep talking about.............I want my fair share and no ice ages allowed this winter!

JW, I'd be more than happy to share what is more than my fair share of heat, for what is more than your fair share of rain! If only it would work that way. Glad you're getting some much deserved sunshine! Temps dropped here about 20 degrees when the rain came, so can't complain about that either!

It's been hot a very very muggy! Was doing some very light work around garden yesterday and beads of moisture rolled off my forehead! Felt like I had a mini stream running off my head, think I'm living in the tropical steamy jungle these days, complete with large bunches of blood sucking bugs too!
Couple days ago it was sooo hot that the long praire grass gave off a strange smell, my sweet honey bunches of married loved said that the oil was coming out of the grasses cause if the heat factor, causing that sweet strange grassy smell. And no it's not that kind of grass, cause if it was I might have to gather some up for medicinal use only! Ha ha ha :)

The hornwort in my pond is really taking over like a weed! Better than algae that's for sure!!!
Poppy what big teeth you have!

Hot hot hot ... I'm sure tired of saying that word. My car read 103 at 4:00 today when I ran short errand before end of work day. Then rain cloud hovered over, dropped about 20 drops of rain, but temps went from 103 to 86 in the 10 minutes I was in the store. When I got home, though, that rain cloud and cooler temps didn't get there, or had come and gone. It was mid 90's still at 5:30.
Good news, though, got a puppy sold! First one, so still have 3, but they are cute little buggers. Will take any left week from this Sat. to friend's house in northwest IL for a "puppy fair". Hope to sell the rest then, if not before.

Had several thunderstorms in the area last night, had to comfort Poppy half the night as she was sacred for her life again by the storms. It rained good the day before, and some in the middle of the night. Temp right now is 93 in the shade. Had air conditioner on most the day, going to take large puppies to river park for their daily walk. Off work tomorrow so I got to get cleaning house and finish projects in the yard, always something! :)

It was triple digits here again today, still 91 right now at 9 p.m. :-( Calling for 101 tomorrow again, but rain chance of 40-50% from noon until evening. I just hope I get more than a few drops this time, but when I looked at the weather map, I sure don't see where this rain is coming from. Looks pretty quiet to the west of me, where storms usually come from. I see big storms in southern edge of Indiana and up by my sisters in Milwaukee, WI, but nothing in central IL. Heard IL has been declared a drought, corn is officially a disaster, farmers are cutting it for silage if they have place to store it and animals to feed it to, otherwise it's not going to be worth the gas to combine it, but they WILL have to combine it to chop it up and get it off the field, that's the sad thing. This year, at least so far, it was best to have soy beans. My house is surrounded by beans, but I don't own any cropland. I would just appreciate temps below 95 at this point, but again, glad that I have well water, feel free to water all I want.

My weather today....plain and simple, too flippin hot. My Jeep said it was 102-105 on the way home. Our weather station at home in the shade said it was 105. I hate to say this, but I'm looking forward to fall coming. Even more, I'm looking forward to winter, if we even have one this year. I love summer, but I can't remember a summer being this hot before. Maybe I just didn't pay attention before. Thank god our furnace and central air unit are brand new. This is the second summer we have lived in this house and when we were flipping the house, that was the first thing that was replaced. 95% effeicent heating and cooling system.
