What are you referring to as "love bugs", Tbendl? Sounds like "lady bugs" that swarm on the sunny side of houses, get inside, stink if you smoosh them, and bite if they land on you. Right? I have not had any of them since I moved to my house 5 years ago. Yet another pro for living out in the middle of farmed fields, where everything is flat. Ho hum ....

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH....................you guys have stolen my sunshine and I need some back! We had the best Summer ever and I am really going to miss the sun. Rain is wrecking my plans now. I hear the sun will be making another appearance on Saturday but think it's days are numbered now. I can't live like this, must run off to the sun for the winter if we can figure out where we want to squat from place to place

Ah well we knew it couldn't go on for ever for the last two nights weve had thunderstorms across the UK and down here in sunny Devon today the sky is sullen and overcaste with heavy rain and thunderstorms predicted.
Mind you weather forcasting is still a hit an miss affair at the very best of times and the weather people who are only 36 miles away in Exeter since moving from London have dropped some big clangers before like the hurricane of 87 here Michael fish the weather man on the BBC famously said after a lady wrote in saying she had heard a hurricane was on its way said what hurricane I can assur you that that is wrong the rest is history :-

Love bugs are a southern charm. They are these bugs that fly around attached to each other. They don't bite, they just fly around butt to butt. By the end of fall my car is full of smooshed butt flyers. They are, for me, the sign that both spring and fall are coming as that's the only time we get them.

Were back to summer and nice warm and dry these days, just perfect for big black Wolf spiders. They are everywhere, inside, outside, in and around the gazebo and pond! Last night one big one ran accoss the floor and crawled under my couch!!

So I was curious about the Wolf Spider... Then I googled it... That is downright unnatural. I mean I don't like spiders to begin with, I go straight ninja whenever I accidentally walk into a spiderweb but now you're talking about a spider that is the size of my hand AND it chases you down?!??? Oh nooooo... That is a big ole bowl of Nope.
Nope
Nopeee, Nope
Still Nope

You mean like this one?

Their bite can hurt you but they say it will not kill you. Might cause an infection and be very painful. I never kill the spiders and hubby always yells at me when he sees one, says come get your friend outta here please! They give him the shivers and I get enjoyment outta that.
Am I bad or what
