We been getting plenty here Sissy. Would gladly share. We have had almost 5 inches this week and storms are popping up again today. Currently a tornado warning for north central iowa. We do not need any of that!

Had some very severe weather come thru today. I knew something was going to happen today. When I got up for work at 6, it was already 72 and the humidity was at 98%. It was MUGGY. Still at 9 tonight the humidity is at 95%. It came around 1:45 pm. Had numerous reports of a funnel cloud over town. Lots of people saw it. Sirens were going off, the sky was just pitch black and then the clouds just opened up. Had over 2 inches in 45 mins. There was a lot of damage all over town, trees down, power lines down and lots of rain. A few houses had roof damage. Just west of town, a very large out building got destroyed and the house across the road from it had pretty bad damage. The roof was gone and so were a few walls. Just a mile west of this location they had reported 80mph winds. The big flood control lake that we went to on Saturday is expecting the water to go over the emergency spillway. The current outflow is 19,000 cfps. they are running the dam wide open. The inflow is 5,000 cfps more than what they can release. By next week the lake will be at 884ft. They have what they call crest gates that they can raise, which will give them an additional 6ft of storage, but with all this heavy rain we are getting, it will still push the water over the top of those gates. Why they want to create a 6ft wall of water rushing down river, but it seems stupid to me. Yes they lower the crest gates one at a time, but you still have a 6ft wall of water surging into the already flooded river. I just let the water go over the spillway like it was designed for and let nature do its thing. If the army corp would have lowered the lake level this spring at the first sign of heavy rain and flooding threat, this wouldn't be going on. Haver knows that I mean.
