Supposed to rain Sunday, Monday too, hopefully it won't cause I have lots of yard work needs to be done but I hwve to work all day long again tomorrow. Mitch keep that rain water up there please, cause mountains have record amounts of snow, so we won't be needing any of your rain! Please know more flooding like last year, too much stress!

Light rain on and off, no big deal.
Supposed to get up to 11C/52F with thunderstorms today.
With that low of temperature, any thunderstorms that develop will probably be pretty weak.

I initially bought the non-plus VP2 but added the solar radiation in 2011 and then bought the UV sensor last year. Thinking of adding a temperature station with stainless probe to monitor the pond temperature. I also added Davis's leaf/soil station. For the vegetables. I use the data to monitor the garden. Solar data allows the console to calculate Evapotranspiration which I find useful in evaluating the pond's evaporation. So the VP2 helps me know what water is lost.

That's a great idea about using the temperature sensor for monitoring the pond water temperature, Fountainman.
I've been trying to find a suitable setup for when my pond ice gets thick, (2 feet last winter).

I have a similar Davis setup as you, but I use different monitoring software. I use www.weather-display.com

The sun was out yesterday and the weather was just lovely! This morning sun is shining and no clouds in sight, although it is supposed to rain maybe. Right now we are at 60 degrees, pond looks lovely and plants are growing nicely. Life in my "middle" pond...

Weather Display 10.37 build 81 is what I use as well. You can set up Weather Display to read pond temperature and chart it. Another cool thing I've done with Weather Display is use custom tags on the main display to show additional info.

I did a pond for a friend of mine. They're paying me for the work. Hopefully with that I'll be buying a temperature station as well.

I buy all my stuff from Scaled Instruments. They have discount prices and great service.

Yesterday a.m. it was 45 on my back deck, sun was shining, light breeze, and my WI family and I were in tshirts and jeans, and thinking it was at least 60! Unbelievable. Clouds did roll in some, but no rain for the wedding day. Today, sunny, and got up to maybe high 60's and heading up from there this week. Going to get the farmers back in the field by mid-week, I suspect. Got my lawn mowed before a couple of quick showers rolled through on Fri., so I'm happy. No company for a while, so I can relax again. I will say I ended up with a very clean house, organized utility room and garage, and got started on my stream edge. Will need more rocks, but have enough to do one side. Also got new "bridge" rock in place, but trying to figure out what to prop it up with.
OK, question to those of you engineers or just smart people: I have glass blocks, the type you can put in your wall, kind of see out, but not clearly. They are about 6" thick, and maybe 12-14" square. I was thinking about putting them under each end of the bridge rock ...
My $26 bridge stone.JPG

So, if I put the glass block under it, could I put it laying down, so only 6" high, or should it be standing up (12-14" high)? My thought is to put the liner between the bridge and block, so there would not be rock against glass, and then put LED lights behind it, so it would glow at night. I've had about 20 of these glass blocks, and always had it in the back of my mind to use them under a wooden bridge, but now wondering if they will work with the rock, or if it will crack the glass. The bridge rock is 101#. Thoughts?

Sitting outside by a fire, by my pond tonight, worked hard at work tonight and planning to work hard on my day off tomorrow and get the front yard done!! Canadian Long Weekend, and I only get Monday off so going to spend it in the yard cause weather is pretty darn ice! :)
