Yesterday a.m. it was 45 on my back deck, sun was shining, light breeze, and my WI family and I were in tshirts and jeans, and thinking it was at least 60! Unbelievable. Clouds did roll in some, but no rain for the wedding day. Today, sunny, and got up to maybe high 60's and heading up from there this week. Going to get the farmers back in the field by mid-week, I suspect. Got my lawn mowed before a couple of quick showers rolled through on Fri., so I'm happy. No company for a while, so I can relax again. I will say I ended up with a very clean house, organized utility room and garage, and got started on my stream edge. Will need more rocks, but have enough to do one side. Also got new "bridge" rock in place, but trying to figure out what to prop it up with.
OK, question to those of you engineers or just smart people: I have glass blocks, the type you can put in your wall, kind of see out, but not clearly. They are about 6" thick, and maybe 12-14" square. I was thinking about putting them under each end of the bridge rock ...
So, if I put the glass block under it, could I put it laying down, so only 6" high, or should it be standing up (12-14" high)? My thought is to put the liner between the bridge and block, so there would not be rock against glass, and then put LED lights behind it, so it would glow at night. I've had about 20 of these glass blocks, and always had it in the back of my mind to use them under a wooden bridge, but now wondering if they will work with the rock, or if it will crack the glass. The bridge rock is 101#. Thoughts?
