We have used glass block a lot, building shower walls, if you think of the weight on that bottom block from all the ones on top of it like 10 or so, it would be more than the rock. Make sure you get the silicone for the glass block to seal them together, it lasts out in the weather . I would put some rubber gasket between the rock and the block too.

Looks great ce, I had a bridge rock in arizona and a few here, love your idea.

THIRTY SEVEN DEGREES HERE, geez.................but the days are beautiful, 62 or so with no humidity, sun out, perfect for being outside.

Wow remember yesterday how I said it was nice and sunny and was wondering where the rain was they predicted? WELL, it arrived like a CRAZY TRAIN GONE WILD..................started as pouring rain coming down in poop loads and then turned to crashing hail and did this for a few hours along w/ booming thunder and lightning. Pond filled up over it's brim, gutters overflowed and water was bubbling up from the french drain pipes. My rock path next to the pond looked like a river. The calves in the field next door were running around trying to escape it all but could not find any cover. I didn't think it would ever stop.................but today is a new day and sunshine is trying to poke through the dark clouds. They now say just a chance of showers and then on to the good stuff again for Tuesday and Wednesday, YAY............then back into the wet and so it goes on and on and on. That's life in the Pacific Northwest o_O

geeze JW that was a real eye opening storm you had .I saw reports on the weather channel about them looking for my landslides and worried about some ground sounds they were hearing .Yet they do not stop the stripping of trees

I have a couple Bosnia friends that I work with in the bakery, they are muslim but dress mostly just like us, we are good friends, and their homes that they have back in Bosnia are flooding bad. They work very hard and save money to go home every summer, now I wonder what will happen to their homes. Yesterday they told me the water was at their doorsteps and the amount of water is horrid, whole towns underwater I hear ....

I buy all my stuff from Scaled Instruments. They have discount prices and great service.

Thanks for the Scaled Instruments tip.
It looks like I'll be getting a couple of the temperature probes with the RJ connectors.
I already have a remote station I can hook them up to.
I'll probably also bury 1 probe 4 feet down in the soil to see how it compares to my pond water temperature.
( our frost line here is 4 feet and my pond is 5 feet deep)

We had the chilly nighttime temps this past weekend, but it warmed up nicely here today, about 76. Going to 80's and 70's all week here, perfect spring weather!
Thanks for the pointers on the glass block, Addy. The main reason I want to use it is to put LED lights behind them, so they "glow" brightly at night. We shall see what I come up with. The stream is not very long, and only maybe 2.5' wide as far as the water. I just wanted river rocks on the edge rather than the flat flagstone rocks that were readily available when I built the ponds. Now it's a matter of slowly swapping out the flat for the natural rounded shaped local rocks.
