Batten down the hatches and stay safe addy. Guess no mowing for you today. Going to look at your camera windows. Saw it was raining a bit earlier and windy.

I initially bought the non-plus VP2 but added the solar radiation in 2011 and then bought the UV sensor last year. Thinking of adding a temperature station with stainless probe to monitor the pond temperature. I also added Davis's leaf/soil station. For the vegetables. I use the data to monitor the garden. Solar data allows the console to calculate Evapotranspiration which I find useful in evaluating the pond's evaporation. So the VP2 helps me know what water is lost.

Weather watching is a side hobby of mine. I get carried away on threads like this. :D

A picture of the VP2 outdoor station. Note the anemometer was replaced with an NRG/ Maximum high performance industrial grade anemometer and vane using Davis's universal anemometer interface.

Pond temperature coming soon.

Neat idea, about the stainless probe, I will look into that. I really like the VP2. ummmmmmmmmmm mine is installed on a old piece of pipe. That is one sweet set up!

I will look into the probe, that is one that would not die. Is it hard wired to the station? I do have mine as wireless to the house.

The probe comes with a wireless transmitter. Just make sure you set the station ID number in the configuration so that the wireless transmitter is received. Eg. Station #2 TEMP.

Thanks, a new project! I absolutely love watching the weather. Have a weather station at every house I have lived at. I have my station loading to find u, one neat feature is a doppler map of the storm coming. My sweetie has learned I am pretty good at predicting if that storm will actual hit us by the way it is advancing.

I too send to Findu. Aka CWOP. I use Weather Display 10.37 to handle all the data. Also plots everything out and gives detailed information. Some other sites I send to are Weather Bug, PWS weather, and AWEKAS. I'm thinking of installing a temperature probe in my pond. Weather and gardening go together.

I just tune into the weather channel and watch that, but it is good to know how low the air pressure is, right at your location. I have the old fashion type, if the water goes up the spout and that means storm coming.
Getting cooler and windy now, temperture now about 63 F (+17 Celsius)

I will check some of those others out,

We are right now at 2.95 inches of rain it is pouring. Luckily our house does not ever flood, love being at the top of a hill The pond is getting a huge flush job.

Schools are rain closed today, there is flooding going on
