64 here, forecast to get to 70, bees are happy. A lot of trees very slowly budding out, very slowly recovering from the deer munching.

But I found one lotus leaf coming up! YEAH they made it

2 weekends ago I was chatting with my mom telling her how we had sold our camper and we had been looking for a new one. I told her what I was looking for and that I had no problem driving to get it. Big mistake there lol.. She found us the perfect camper, but it was about 5 hrs away. The price was perfect and so was the camper but I figured there was no way a camper in that shape could still be available. Well I called the dealer that it was at and like I had thought, he said someone was interested in it and that he would know in a few hours if it was still available. So I called back about 3 hrs later and he told me that the deal had fell thru and if we wanted the camper it was ours. I about peed my pants!!! I told him that I would be down there the next day with $5,500 cash. I really couldn't sleep that good that night because we were waiting for our tax refund to get deposited into our acct Tuesday morning. Well when the wife finally got up at 6 she checked out acct and it was all there. HOLY CRAP!!! Something is going our way for once. After waiting for the bank to open I was able to leave town around 8:45. I had to drive from Indianola, IA to Laurie, MO. That is right on the Lake of the Ozarks. Love that country down there. After driving straight thru I get there right around 1;45 in the afternoon. I pull in and I see her right away. I go talk to the people and tell them what I'm there for and we get started on the paper work.

After checking it out and making sure all the systems work

I finally get on my way. I stopped about 15 miles away and pulled into a service station to have the air pressure checked in the tires. I have a 4.5 hr drive ahead of me. I don't want to have any issues.

I stopped in Sedila, MO to get some food since I had been on the road all day and just sit down for a bit. I had been able to drive all the way down there and back up to Sedila before I needed gas. I had never pulled something that big before so it was new for me. I finally got home around 10 pm after making another stop for gas right before I crossed into Iowa. My wife was so excited that she had to pose by our new camper that night lol

I took all these pictures the next day once I was able to get some sleep. Round trip it was right around 530 miles and right at 10hrs and 20 mins of driving. I was a bit worn out.

We did go camping for our first trip of the year last weekend and I was able to catch the race while I was putting Miss Eden to bed

And then I added some LED color changing awning lights this week.

nice steal because it really looks clean inside and well kept and that is amazing for a camper that usually gets abuse .We used my neighbors a couple of years ago but it has the whole thing to it and uses diesel fuel .Did pretty good for what it is .

I pretty much stole it for that price. It was well kept and everything works. Best of all, we own it. Got the title in hand. The reason it was so cheap is because there was a soft spot in the floor towards the rear of the camper. The dealer said that he had 4 calls for the camper the day I was driving to get it. He had to keep telling them that it was sold and someone was on their way for it. Some of the hills down there....WOW....Lots of ups and downs and sharp hills. The first half hour of driving with it I was very nervous. After checking around and look under it, I figured out that the soft spot was right above the holding tanks for the grey water. I wasn't about to take the tank down so I went to a welding shop here in town and had a piece of plate steel cut for the size that I needed. A few pieces of industrial strength Velcro and the steel wasn't going anywhere. After having to buy all the stuff needed for a full size camper, a flat screen tv, dvd player and many other things, we finally have it stocked and ready to go. We were able to keep our bedding from our old camper, but most of the other stuff we had to buy. We love it.

A couple years ago I went through something similar. Found a small pop up for an unbelievable price of $1,000. Not to mention the thing was practically in perfect shape. We found out it was still available so we rushed down to Chicago to get it (even forgot about toll money since we don't have tolls in Wisconsin...oops). Seemed like the longest drive ever, really only 1.5 hours, but wanted to make sure we got it before anyone else. Its already been used for 8 fantastic camping trips! I love my pond but there's nothing I love more than camping and the activities that come with it.

We wanted a full size camper but didn't want the beds to take up space inside so we got a hybrid. It's light weight and pulls nice. We love everything about camping. The smell of the fire, hearing the kids laugh and seeing them have so much fun.

I've never seen a hybrid, and that one looks perfect condition, and LOTS of room! I guess the ends are big beds, and the couch turns into a bed, and maybe the kitchen table and benches are another bed? How many people can sleep in there? Of course, you have a family, but that's a really neat deal! Congrats on your new baby! No wonder your wife looks so happy and excited. There will be some fun camping trips this summer for your family.
Temps heading up here again. After about 45 last night, I'm ready! 70 tomorrow and soon back up to 80 this coming week! Woohoo!

What a great find Ryan! You guys will have so much fun in it. We just have a camper on our truck but we love it when we need to get away from it all. Weather is getting nicer now so we will prolly hit the road soon too. We need to figure out some way to haul our rubber boat w/ us so we can get some fishing in and hang out on the water and just relax. We always take our bicycles w/ us and ride all over the place. Have fun and see the sights w/ the wife and kids and of course the dog gets to go too right?

It sleeps 8. Both of the beds on the ends are heated. Yes that's right. Heated beds. It's like a electric blanket built into the beds and yes it's great. It had ducted ac and furnace. It will sleep 8 no problem. Both beds at 60 x 80. The couch folds down to a bed and dinette makes into a bed. I have been going over everything on it and caulking all the seams and just making sure it will last another 5 years for us until we sell to upgrade again. Mr Gunner loves the new camper and when he wants to go swimming in the lake, we have an outside shower ready for him.

mitch hate to say this but are you going to have winter all year round .I could never imagine living in a place where it snow like you have gotten it and sure would not want to live there .I would freeze my buns off .You need to have a talk with old man winter and kick his butt out the door .Then you need to drag spring and summer in by her hair and tie her to a chair until she agrees to stay ;)
