well already 50 degrees and headed to 85 today and have to set my hose up on my 1 pump to it's final placement .Still shady by the pond so going to wait for sun to get over there so it is warmer .The shade feels chiller when you have to put your hands in the water to pull the hoses out and disconnect them and then reconnect them where they belong

We had a warm day yesterday up to 68. But very very windy. But then front came in and temp dropped 40 degrees! A chilly 28 this am.
I was out checking on the pond last night (leaves coming from every nook and under shrubs etc. all blowing right into my pond )
Fish for the first time were swimming in a school a lot at the surface, very active. Looking for food, I think as water temp had made it to almost 50.
(didn't have glasses on) No food though as I knew temps were dropping down for the next few days and not quite warm enough anyway. But they were sure looking vulnerable all swimming around the top of the water with no cover!! Cool the rest of the week.

Sun coming out from the clouds now. Still chilly at 37 but rising.
Sorry nature is messing w/ your pond 79. I think my fish are also looking for food but not yet, too soon and still in the 30's at night.

The weather was just beautifil last night, it was above freezing all night long!! It is supposed to stay nice now for a while, maybe spring really is on the way this time!! Right now it is only 34 Fahrenheit, but this weekend it should get to about plus 60 Fahreheit!! This is my new Mushroom stool inside my garden playhouse!

Make the fish eat the string algae Haver! They need the greens this time of the year, plus it is the perfect winter /spring food! The koi in the middle pind have eaten half the alge off one side of the pond, and now that side looks "well groomed"! They have not ventured very far from the safety and comfort of the floating yellow flag to get to the other side of the pond yet.

We need to starve our fish for a bit longer, they could wipe out the algae if we'd let them. Good idea Colleen!
