I want to see the polar bear in the snow, too, JW!
I don't mind all the fun stuff that goes on in this thread. One person ... or was it a dozen ... said that these threads that have lots of followers are like the friendly conversation some like me don't get to have on a daily basis, living alone. So, this is my way of communicating with intelligent adults around the world, and I love it! We are on page 400 just 2 years after this thread was started, so that says not only are there lots of followers, but lots of talkers, and the comments are what everyone enjoys. Yes, we all get off on tangents, but that's all part of it.
One more night of sub zero F temps, then thinking/hoping we are heading uphill in temps. I just want the snow gone. This is far too long to have it around my neck of the woods, but this winter was a bad one. And, didn't someone mention this was going to be a bad winter back in about November? They were right, or the Almanac was right, or whatever! Everyone got more snow than normal, much loser temps than normal, but we all survived it. I know I have daffodils and hyacinths that were already peeking through the mulch a month or so ago, before the snows started, so will be anxious for some warmer days to thaw out the ground and watch them start to grow.

It wasn't really a polar bear in the snow CE. You know the old joke of a white piece of paper being a polar bear in a snowstorm? Ha Ha :D

8 degrees at our house, 70 here.

Winter is just not stopping, well down here winter missed this area, unless you count two days in the low 50's at night and 70 during the day.

Major snow coming?? Somewhere between 1-16". Love the accurate forecasts! I knew this was coming. Hubby made reservations for Ruth Chris steakhouse for Thursday. Had to cancel the reservations he made for my birthday and our anniversary because of bad weather. Wonder if they will mail me a steak? Got the yardstick ready to check totals-

It's -4 here this morning, brisk, but not windy, so bearable to go out and do chores. Sun is shining brightly, it's going to be a beautiful day! And, temps must be raising with the sunshine .... and the prediction says they will be, too. I was getting worried with my daughter and her boyfriend coming on Fri from UT. They will want to use one of my vehicles while they are here, and my car has not been out of the garage for almost 2 weeks now! Going to get it out tomorrow to go take my son to dinner for his birthday, which is on Thurs. He will be 30. Wow, how can I have a son that is 30??? He's such a wonderful son, and I have a wonderful daughter as well. I'm sooooo blessed!!!

Country Escape,

(love that screen name by the way)

Looks like we all might be warming up at least a little bit in the near future. Hope this warming trend holds out and we DO get out of this polar vortex or whatever they call it. I just call it danged cold! Oh well, it has been worse. I'm not going to complain too much. I haven't had to walk home 1.3 miles in the middle of a raging blizzard at 5 am with no hat or gloves after a 12 hour work shift, uphill, into the wind for quite a long time. So, I'll call this a "mild" winter this time.
