Lots of stories will come about the game yesterday. I heard Manning said the first play was botched because Seahawks fans were so loud his teammates could not hear the change of play. Really??? All that story will do is make fans even louder. You will never keep the fans quiet, and now you have given them an excuse to be even louder. If the excited loud Seahawks fans caused that big win, good for them! I think mentally, Denver was down the toilet after the first 8 points Seahawks got. Come on, a touch back, and 2 field goals for the first three point earnings? Unbelievable. It would be very hard to get out of that slump, and Seattle just kept stomping on them. No one envisioned the game going like that. I'm really happy for the Seahawks! I always love the underdog, and everyone seemed to think Denver was going to walk away with it!
Tomorrow the midwest is going to get dumped on. Right now, they are saying 3-6" for my immediate area, but still saying the numbers can change drastically. I'm secretly hoping for 2-4", no sleet or freezing rain, and leave the wind away, too. But, no one asked me. After this storm, and dropping temps back to the single digits, I'm hoping for some steady temps. If it goes up to 40 again, I just hope it stays there longer than a day. Please???? (y)

I'm scratching my head over Sir John going swimming in cold water.o_O

When I was younger, more bold and less wise, I made a $5 bet with a friend regarding swimming in the river like a "polar bear".
It was mid February and the afternoon air temp was about 50-60 degrees F and totally sunny with little wind. A gorgeous day! But the river had just iced out so the water was cold, still near the freezing point. I stripped down to my skivvies (not nekked John!) and dove in! Well, I didn't really dive in, per say. I cautiously walked in up to my calfs, then back out, then back in up to my knees, then back out, then in up to my thighs, and back out. Then I got in deep enough that the water reached Mr. Slinky and I just jumped forward and began to swim as fast as I could.

Swam about 40-50 yards to the sandbar and turned around and came back. Popped open a beer and stood there in the sun until my shorts dried out. The color of my skin turned a light shade of violet and I felt like I was on fire, HOT! Then I collected my $5.

Kind of a cool outlook for this weeks weather here in Cedar Bluffs/Fremont, Nebraska...

MtPond, I assume that you are going to turn your furnace up and open your windows and doors and build a bonfire out back to help warm the air coming down from Colleen's place before it reaches Nebraska?

:)
