What is your weather like ... today

We got an unexpected snow here. After the 12-18" of snow we got in our area week ago Monday, you would think 2" this morning would be a breeze, right? Nope. I was up at 5:30, it has started not long before that. Blowing from the south ... that was scary, because winter storms come out of the N/NW. Anytime storms come from the S or E, it's usually a bad thing around here. Anyhow, I left early for work, the blacktop (like a 2 lane highway, painted lines, etc.) was pretty good. I know to watch for areas where the trees block the sun or make the wind swirl, so was careful there. But, the interstate, OMG! It was snow packed on the passing lane most of the way to Effingham, and in that 11 mile stretch, there were at least a dozen cars in the ditch or median. Unreal! Truckers were buzzing by on the snow packed passing lane, I just let them go, as did most of the other vehicles on the interstate. This afternoon, all melted again on the roads, but getting down to 15 tonight. Still looking forward to the 45 and sunshine they are predicting for Sunday. :blueflower:

Me too CE! Expecting about the same for Sunday. Currently 8F outside and windy. Snow flurries off and on today. Expecting a few slick patches on the roads tomorrow am.

The sun never made it all the way out today. We got socked in w/the fog big time. Could be the sun might come out tomorrow :claphands:

It's tomorrow and the sun IS coming out right this minute! Have to do our Friday shopping store to store deal today as we like to hit the sales on grub!
I think the sun is fooling w/ me tho cuz I'm thinking the fog is gonna win again today. Hope we can find our way around out there in that thick stuff

I am beginning to think this winter there may not be any snow here .If we do get any it will be the end of next month .Depends on the lion or lamb thing for March .Been in the 40's and 50's and been warmer than that .Doesn't bother me no snow but not good for the wells or the farmers here .

Wow are you cold today CE! I even got JW beat in the "weather department" right now!! Ha Ha Ha!! Currently plus 5 c or (41F) Sucks to be you right now CE, I think your the lucky winner of the coldest spot today!! ha ha ha... Even Mitch has you beat by a long shot today, he is currently plus 40 and you are frozen to the ground at 17 whole degrees Fahrenheit!!! he he he No extra warm sun to spare here, cause I am hogging it today all for myself!!! Got to get the sun while the "getting is good" cause this is January and crappy cold weather could still be lurking just around the corner.....

Yep, poor me. LOL It was actually 10 early this morning, and got UP to a whopping 19 this afternoon. Tomorrow will be warmer at 35, and then Sunny and 45 on Sunday! (Can't wait until it's "Sunny and 75" like the song says!!!) I am tentatively planning to go about 90 minutes from here to find a JoAnne Fabric store to buy a bunch of yarn to make a king size bedspread afghan for a friend! I wanted a project, she wanted a bedspread, and we are both thrilled with the project. She's paying for the supplies, and I'm supplying the labor. It's a win-win. BUT, they are calling for snow tomorrow, 70% chance. Only supposed to be less than 1" total, but could get nasty on the roads, since it is going down to 16 tonight. Winds are going to keep the temps feeling like in the single digits come morning, and throughout the day making air temps feel much colder than they are. Will have to wait until morning and check the hourly temps and see when that snow is supposed to show up. Sure would like to get the yarn and then have the rest of tomorrow, Sunday and Monday (I have that day off - MLK's bday) to get started really well on the bedspread. Tomorrow I will know better.
Thanks, Colleen, for putting me in the "cold spot" for the day! NOT! Our temps are going to be going up and down and up and down in the next week or two, but it is winter, so I don't mind the 20's, just keep it out of the single digits. Brrrrrr .... I don't live in Canada, after all. :blueflower:

All this talk about snow is making me get excited! I am still hopeful for some of the white stuff and would be grateful for any amount please. I'd really like to get a load of it but that is unlikely to happen. Will be in the 40's tomorrow so won't be happening now.
