One good thing about florida, they have massive well thought out drains. Once the rain stops it starts going down quickly, the issue with this storm it did not stop for over 8 hours.............2-3 inches an hour falling.

Electric went out last night for a few hours, some places have lost it longer, a few roads washed away, some trees down other than that almost back to normal, except for those that really flooded.

Yikes, can't imagine thunder so forceful, Sissy! That would have scared the heck out of me, too! Glad things are getting back to normal, Addy. Hoping no damage to your new flooring.

Good to hear addy and now hoping no more rains coming your way,at least not that much for sure!

Sissy almost sounds like you had an earthquake and that really would be freaky. We don't get really bad storms like that and when we do get lightning and thunder it doesn't last long.

Soaking, windswept rain here today and through Sunday but should be up to 51f but w/ the winds it will feel like 39f.For 3 days I have only been outside to get the mail and that's it. Rain, rain go away! Good thing I have this nice new computer to keep me occupied. The old xp one took so long to do anything it was like being on Jeopardy waiting for the dee dee dee...........dee dee........dee dee dee music to end so they can answer the question :cheerful:

we had a 2.8 earthquake about 4 evenings ago that ppl said they felt here and in a town just 10 miles away to the south...I didn't feel anything and we were up (about midnight) putting xmas stuff away in the basement...so never know if it was just thunder sissy (and in nebraska one would not expect an earthquake to occur)

We had an earthquake 2 times in the last 5 years nearby .But weather channel said the thunder was really bad here .It got really warm here and that was the cause cold and warm air battling it out .Now it is real foggy with heavy rain

My family in WI (Milwaukee area) got freezing rain last night. My sister that lives in the woods, long uphill drive to get to the house, said she could not stay upright to scatter salt to melt the ice, was too dangerous! And, this morning posted did anyone want to go ice skating on their upper asphalt pad! Said, "You won't get up the drive, so park at the bottom, oh and please bring food, since I can't get out to the store." LOL

Dang, hope you're feeling better soon, Colleen! Having the flu can sure kick a person's butt, that's for sure! I've not had the flu for many years now, knock on wood!
Temps here going up to near 50, sunshine is gorgeous this morning, snow is melting, thanks to rain on Friday. I shoveled what was left of the drift across my driveway so I can now get my car out of the garage. It was heavy, having compacted down with the rain, but I got it done.
The drift was 18" when I began, having been well over 2' before the rain. It didn't seem quite as daunting, so decided to do it with shovel, I needed the exercise, instead of tractor. Whew, what a chore that was!

This part was the worst. At the end of my driveway, there is no ditch or culvert, as my drive is the highest point, water drains away both directions. BUT, with the snow plowed at the end, and very heavy and ice, water was gathering underneath, causing about 5" of icy slush under the 5-8" of snow at the end, before the 2' of icy plowed snow. It was the heaviest part!

But, my faithful Yukon was on hand to keep my spirits up. He loves laying in the snow, and eating the snow! I think he doesn't like my softened water either. LOL

Just checked weather for 10 days - 40's and 30's next couple of days, then 20's for high and low on Wed (WTH???), 40's on Thurs., 20/13 on Fri, good grief, we are all over the place! I wish it would stay just a little more steady!
Water heater thawed nice big hole on the koi pond, but even though I shoveled off the snow from the area of the goldfish pond where that heater is, still no open hole. Wondering if that heater just quit working, darn it! Will maybe have to bring the horse trough heater up today to get a hole opened up again. Been almost a week now, and want to get some air moving out of the water. Once I get the opening, I can turn the water pump back on. Had to shut everything down then the power went off, concerned about pump freezing and then trying to start back up.

So maybe the snow is done now CE and you can take a rest? Hope so. Yukon sure is a pretty dog. Hope he stays home now. Goldfish are pretty tough so thinking they will be ok even tho the ice is frozen over.

We lost power again last night right before I was going to go to bed. The tv went off and if it does that when the power goes off and then the power comes on the tv goes back on. It did in the middle of the night so had to get up and click it off. Thinking it would not turn off if I pushed the button on remote w/ no power on tv. But there may be a button on the tv I could have pushed.Gosh do they still make buttons to push them off? Who knows, I never even looked, just went to bed.
