Dang, hope you're feeling better soon, Colleen! Having the flu can sure kick a person's butt, that's for sure! I've not had the flu for many years now, knock on wood!
Temps here going up to near 50, sunshine is gorgeous this morning, snow is melting, thanks to rain on Friday. I shoveled what was left of the drift across my driveway so I can now get my car out of the garage. It was heavy, having compacted down with the rain, but I got it done.
The drift was 18" when I began, having been well over 2' before the rain. It didn't seem quite as daunting, so decided to do it with shovel, I needed the exercise, instead of tractor. Whew, what a chore that was!
This part was the worst. At the end of my driveway, there is no ditch or culvert, as my drive is the highest point, water drains away both directions. BUT, with the snow plowed at the end, and very heavy and ice, water was gathering underneath, causing about 5" of icy slush under the 5-8" of snow at the end, before the 2' of icy plowed snow. It was the heaviest part!
But, my faithful Yukon was on hand to keep my spirits up. He loves laying in the snow, and eating the snow! I think he doesn't like my softened water either. LOL
Just checked weather for 10 days - 40's and 30's next couple of days, then 20's for high and low on Wed (WTH???), 40's on Thurs., 20/13 on Fri, good grief, we are all over the place! I wish it would stay just a little more steady!
Water heater thawed nice big hole on the koi pond, but even though I shoveled off the snow from the area of the goldfish pond where that heater is, still no open hole. Wondering if that heater just quit working, darn it! Will maybe have to bring the horse trough heater up today to get a hole opened up again. Been almost a week now, and want to get some air moving out of the water. Once I get the opening, I can turn the water pump back on. Had to shut everything down then the power went off, concerned about pump freezing and then trying to start back up.
