You better get a boat just in case it gets too bad there addy. You can take a sail and come back when it subsides. You have the nice warm temps anyways so you can't complain :cheerful:

Thanks still coming down heavy........the sweet spot of the storm is right on top of us. The back room of the house is under water, luckily staying there. Where we had not yet laid the flooring.
Warm tropical air hitting the cold front, causing a spin sitting right on top of us.

The storm cell is sitting right on top of us not moving. No forecast picked up this storm, totally took everybody by surprise.

water coming in the front door now, we are shop vaccing it up, new bamboo floors.................darn darn darn darn

Thankfully we were down here, what a disaster if we had not been

our door sills are around 5 inches up, we are on a slight slope up from common areas, the water in our car port is 5 inches deep, the area looks like a lake outside the door, things floating away.

it slowed down now pouring again

give me snow and freezing any day over this

Now water coming up through the slab................what a mess

Oh Addy what a horrible storm that was!! I thought you were still in the deep freezer! I was sick and missed what was going on this thread. Nothing in the world more stressful than watching the water slowly creep up and nothing really can be done much about the non stop rain! This has been a very strange year for weather! 2014 not off to a good start!!

I hope it has quit raining down there, and poor Missy, good thing you are up high cause down lower parts, she could have been swept away in flash flood. I can imagine the mess and the stress you are going threw right now, take care and try to get some rest if possible!

Glad the water is going down.

Our basement has been partially flooded a couple of times now. It's stressful, but everyone helps you through it.

cheers,

Andy.

Thanks colleen, the deep freeze down here was a cold 50 but that cold 50 mixed with wet and hot coming from the south, mixed right over us. The storm came over and stalled right over this area, not sure of the totals, but over 18 inches.

Poor missy tried to go out pee, but the water was way too deep, she ran out when I opened the door, it was almost over her back. Grabbed her and just did not say anything when she ran to the back of the house and squatted.

Andy we will be fine, we stayed up for hours last night vaccing up the water, houses just west of us, low area, have 1-2 feet of water in them. We had just a inch or so. Just waking the brain up now.
More wet major rains coming, so we might have more flooding, but I think our house will be fine, the roads, here, have drained down.
Other roads look like rivers still.

So much of the land here is below sea level. Our place is on a little bump. His parents lived here 25 years, the house has been here since the 70's this has never happened even in hurricanes.

We have school closures due to rain! lol

We have the ac on set to 68 degrees, sucking the moisture out, fans running, My fingers are cold lol.

Well was going to upload a picture showing the water over the bumper of my parked car, but it keeps failing.............so just imagine it..............lol

people are using boats on roads lol

net real slow, too many people on cell phones right now
