Happy to come back on and see yukon is safe and sound and hoping the rain lets up for Addy .We have been getting rain but not to bad and just got home today from hospital before a heavy down pour came .I would have made it home earlier but had to stop at pharmacy to get new meds .

Sissy, returning from Florida do you fly or drive? If you drive I'm assuming after leaving Florida you go through, in some manner, Mobile, AL. I am originally from Mobile County and have a suggestion for you during upcoming trips.

I wasn't in Florida I have been at the hospital with my hubby he had a non stress test thursday and they ended up stopping it and doing a cardiac catherization on his heart and they started that just before midnight of that day and finished at 3 am on friday and he had to stay in hospital until today .When Uncle Tony passed I drove down with my sisters. We took turns driving .We rented a car that way we did not put the miles on any of our vehicles

Fast trip to Florida from here a straight run mostly .I guess that is why they call it the drug highway .A state trooper told us that ,he stopped us leaving Florida after he saw the stupid rental car had NY plates on it .Dumb rental company 3 women and a rental car from NY what were they thinking .Funny thing is we never even noticed the plates were from NY until we got stopped .We were only there 2 days and guess the eyes in the sky were watching us .Darn 3 women drug runners that we are :cheerful: State trooper was really nice but they detained us 2 hours so the drug dog could sniff up the car .Glad no one planted drugs in the car without our knowledge ,that could have been scarey and he told us it does happen .

Well it is beautiful here in Canada too, currently just above freezing at 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 Celsius. Anytime during January that we have above freezing temperatures, that is considered a nice day for us. Thankful that I did not have to heat the pond for last couple days, and next few days the weather is going to be even nicer!!

Today by the frozen river....

We were up most of the night using the shop vac, towels, fans drying out the house. Helped some of our neighbors that really got flooded, some 8 inches of water in the house. We were not hit bad compared to a lot of others.

We are tired, could not really sleep it kept raining, off and on. The best thing about it is they have very good drains, the water does leave fast once it stops raining, you could see it going down, as fast it came up.

Thanks for all of your thoughts.

Lou we drive from florida, we go straight up I95, 1053 miles and home.

I hope your hubby is doing ok Sissy!

Thank you and hoping after the healing and the next non stress test in 2 months will be better than this last one .At least the stent they put in last year is doing good and guessing since they are now making them out of chromium and platinum is why ,the old ones did not hold up as well since they were made of surgical steel .They were not stiff enough .It looks like a spring from a pen .Talked to Aunt Jojo and she said she bought up groceries before the storm so she was not worried about going out in the bad weather .We got rain but not as heavy as they thought it was going to be .Now I see they have more warnings up for storms along the shore so checked up on my brother Tommy and his sons since they live in Norfolk VA

Stay safe, Sissy, and praying for your hubby's continued recovery and on to a better next months!
Colleen, did you figure out that Addy and her hubby are at one of their rentals in FL, and that's where the flooding is going on? Her fish back in MD are doing fine. :) Addy, OMG, I cannot imagine 18" in a day. That is just absolutely unbelievable. I sure hope things get drained down before any more rain shows up, and then not nearly as much. Keep that shop vac up and running! Glad you're on that little "bump" as you called it!

Oh my Addy, that's incredible, 18 inches of rain! Good thing you were there. Hope the rain does not continue and things can get back to normal.

We have been getting freezing rain here. Not a lot but heavy mist of rain all afternoon. Temp hovering around 32F. We had a Christmas party to go to this evening, against my protests, we started out. Took mostly gravel and when we got to the highway it was nothing but ice. In a 2 mile strip, we passed a car in the ditch on its top, one on its side in the median another in the ditch. My hubby finally decided yes we need to go back home. Passed another 2 in the ditch. Turned on the first gravel road we could and made it home. Dangerous to be out on the roads!

Sissy best wishes for a speedy recovery for your hubby.
