Had the most wonderful Christmas day!! Sweet hubby made and beautiful stuffed turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes, I made a nice vegan rooted vegetable dish with parsnip, turnip, carrot's and potato's, with fresh herbs and baked with a can of creamy coconut milk and a large chunk of coconut oil. It came out very nice, much nicer than I imagined, sort of like a scalloped potato dish but with a coconut touch! My vegan sister loved it and so did my mom and my nefew. Vegan sister brought a nice salad and some other dish. Everybody had a really good time and vegan sister behaved cause her son told her to not comment on the "meat" and to just get over it! It worked out very good and never saw everybody so relaxed ever!! The before dinner cocktails and after dinner wine helped big time!

So bright and sunny! Love it and really not that warm at 36F but still very nice. Had a great Christmas and hope all of you did too. Now back to bread and water........wait skip the bread :biggrinangelA:

Forgot to mention, somebody I don't know, dropped this card off on my door step yesterday.....

Cold and a bit of snow today.

I so wanted snow for Christmas but we only had a trace....maybe next year

Colleen- so cool that someone left the card. We usually get a note written on our newspaper regarding decorations. Love seeing people stopping out front and checking out the new display. Even had a school bus stop by every day to let the kids check things out.

Our house is so far back nobody really sees it.

It was 44 degrees when I left work this evening, beautiful sunshine, too. Going up to 50's on Saturday, then dropping to 20's for high next week. I'm fine with the cold, and even the warmer days in between. Love it all.
Colleen, so nice of that lady to leave the note, and so nice of you to share it! People need to comment when things are good, not only when they are bad. Seems people let it go and never let you know you did something nice, but will be the first to let you know when you messed up. I'm one that tries to say "job well done" far more than "man you screwed that up!" Positive thinking goes a long way in life. Congrats to you!

We are doing the same ce, 50's for two days, then rain then back into the 20 and 30's for day temps bouncing bouncing.

I ran my department that way, always told my staff good job, hated when I did need to do a write up

We got up to 50 yesterday so the snow was getting heavy and sticky by the time I was done with all my plowing.
Calgary is under a flash freeze warning for tonight. There's a fast moving cold front coming that will bring strong winds and blowing snow with wind chills down near -30.
Guess I better get the woodstove ready again!
My wife is making a trip into town today to stock up on some groceries.

Going to be in the 50's here today and tmrw and the ponds bubblers is just bubbling away in an open 3' circle around it Saw the fish kids at the bottom just hanging out...really need to get a thermometer for the bottom as my curiosity towards the temp there is getting to me! I also wonder where the baby fish I saw this fall are and hope they are staying warm.

We are 49 right now, I was out in a t-shirt, nice and warm

The fish are all fine in my ponds, the warm chinnook winds have melted almost all the ice now and I saw them today swimming around all fine.

Right now we are at 45 degrees Fahrenheit, but it is supposed to get cold again tomorrow. I have not had the pond heater plugged in for days, but will have to tomorrow if that cold wind comes down this way like is is supposed to....
