Well, we have hydro again after a 30- hour blackout. Anybody miss me?? No light, no heat, no water, and the roads too icy to drive on, even if the vehicles HADN'T been entombed in an inch of ice. Temp in the house was down to 48 F. last night. Most of my tropical fish seemed dead when I checked this morning, :grumble: but the six Cory cats were still lively! Trees and branches down all over the place, and since everything is still covered in ice there is no guarantee that other wires won't be pulled down in the near future. Did two poinsettia deliveries to churches this morning, and hard to believe the destruction! Probably a third of all trees missing branches, many ripped in two by the weight of the ice. Power still out to 300,000 households, and some won't be back on the grid until the end of the week! MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

Sunny and cold here. Was 24 this morning. Hopefully warmer tomorrow.

Oh our daughter-in-law just emailed us all a scheduled of events time table for the family get together tomorrow -

11:00 Arrive
11:30 Open Presents
12:30 Eat
3:30 Leave for church
4:00 Christmas Eve Church Service

After reading it I just shook my head and grinned. I think we will get there early just to see what happens! :)

Amazing how different weather is in different parts of the world. It was 51F (11C) this afternoon and I actually went to the gym for a swim and the pool was full! It got rainier and cooler and now the temp is just 47F/8C.

(Also had a scare during my swim. I was swimming hard during this lap, I felt tingling on my back and halfway down the pool my muscles gave out. All of a sudden my vision went yellow and I thought either I blew out blood vessels in my retina or I had a stroke. I swam slowly to the end when I took my goggles off I found out that they had switched on a different set of lights in the ceiling. I guess the tingling and the muscle weakness was just because I had been exerting myself after not swimming for a while, but that was real scary.)

Yikes, scary, Sir John! Glad it was a lighting thing. That would be very scary in a pool.
Awful news, Haro. Glad you're ok, though. Ice storms are the most destructive. When we had that bad one 2 years ago, there were electric line poles down. When one would go, it would take 4-10 more with it. The electric company had been lapse in replacing them, I guess, so that following summer they were replacing poles everywhere. Ones that had been propped back up and the ones in between.
JW, when I replaced my printer, it was because the black and color ink cartridges needed to both be replaced. And, the new printer was cheaper than the ink cartridges. I didn't get a very expensive printer, as all I print are flight itineraries, or bank statements. LOL The old cartridges probably dried up!
Addy, I'm going to check out on ebay and Amazon for that lighted mirror. Asked my niece, but she left hers at school, so can't give me the brand or the magnification, but I know the 7X was not nearly what hers is. When I used it, I was shocked at what I saw! LOL Then wondered if kids with good eyes could see what I saw in that mirror! :yikesu:
