Who wants to trade weather with me??? Come on you guys down south, quit hogging the warm wind again!! Willing to trade weather with anyone EXCEPT Mitch!! I imagine he is enjoying a nice frosty -19 Fahrenheit right now, and probably holed up in wood cabin, surrounded by wild vicious beasts, and with ton of snow on roof, drinking hot coffee with lots of Crown Royal!! Ha ha ha ha

Right now I have plenty of cold for my liking at -6 Fahrenheit (-21 C)!
You can have our high temps, really bad for the plants if they pop out of dormancy then it freezes again. All the seed I put out could start to germinate then die.
Around 70 or so, on sunday, 25 degrees above normal

:)

Had an unexpected family funeral to attend this week. :( A broken hip for someone took a turn for the worse.

We're having quite the winter so far. Calgary is close to receiving 3 times the regular snowfall. Last week I had to winch my wife's car out of the ditch along the driveway. That was a 5 hour project. Now more snow today and it's becoming too much for my little tractor to handle. I'm going to look into a rear mounted snow thrower for it pretty soon.
I saw on the news a mother with her 3 little kids was driving her truck and going too fast, wound up sliding into oncoming truck traffic and losing her 18 month old boy as a result. Can't imagine what their family is going through. This time of year especially.

I don't even turn on the car if the roads have white on them. One advantage to being retired early.

Sorry for to hear of the passing of your family member.

Very Sorry to hear the terrible news Mitch, and so close to Christmas too. Hope for early spring, and not happy to hear Calgary has so much snow already, not good for me come spring, tired of flooding. I imagine the mountains have even more snow!

Sorry Mitch for the loss of someone dear to you. Terrible about the accident involving the death of that little child.
I don't drive if the roads are iced up. Snow does not bother me but the idiots driving out there with me do.
They are now warning us here of a snow storm coming our way at 4am tomorrow morn and then warming up right away after it to 40F and rain.
We NEED this snow for Christmas

safe distance and lower speeds save lives .Seems everyone is in a rush and what for a grave .Leave earlier and take your time and watch out for all the dummies who speed and travel to close ,hard to do these days but you have to try .Seems people think it can't happen to me

So sorry to hear about the untimely death of your family member, Mitch. So sad, and time of year makes it so much more difficult, too.
I agree, people either do not leave any extra time (my boss for instance) and then are in a rush when can't go regular speeds. Or, they try to pass those of us that they feel go too slow. I drive careful, don't care to go into the ditch. Hot rods will pass me, and that's perfectly fine with me, as long as they don't slide doing it. I go speed most people go when it's slick, but there is always someone that thinks he can go faster. I do hate it when someone goes 15-20 mph, when everyone else is going 35-40. That makes it frustrating for sure! But, my dad always said it's not yourself, it's others you have to really watch out for. Drive safe everyone, even more careful this time of year.

Sorry to hear of your loss Mitch.

Better to go slow when roads are slick imo. Will probably hurt a little less if you did end up in the ditch. Sometimes I will opt to drive a lot more gravel roads if roads are slippery just to avoid traffic and people who are driving way to fast for the conditions. Just not when snow is blowing and drifting as that creates a whole new set of driving challenges!
