We have been high 50's all this week, sun out t-shirt weather, starting sunday, 30's for the next week, few bounces to the 40's. The nights have been in the 20's ice on the ground every morning this week.

Same here, Addy. Warmer this morning though, no frost or ice. Weekend going down to low 30's for highs and 20 or high teens for lows. Figures ... cause I need to leave my Boston in the outside dog shed. Will put a space heater in there for her, and she will have her heated dog pad, too. Sure wish it was temps like last weekend ... but not winds like last weekend.

Woke up to a thick layer of frost on the roof. Weather is 28F (-2C). There is a thin layer of ice on the pond and I had already switched off the waterfall a few days ago.

27F here now but sun is so bright and beautiful and waterfall and 1ft geyser and aerator keeping ice off my pond. But the temporary net on my pond is sagging lower as the geyser is hitting the net and making freezy spots weighing the net down. Sheesh I have to go out there in this cold but sunny weather and finish sewing that new net together before that other net sinks all the way down into the pond! Taking my coldeeze meds too so the cold that's trying to get me does not win. Spot on exray doc says could be a kidney stone or maybe not. He says it looks like a funny shape for a kidney stone. Maybe just a flaw in the xray................who knows but I am and have not been in any pain so gotta go back in 2 months to see if that spot is still there or went away. Have the heavy duty pain drugs on hand just in case.

Buy pipe and support the net underneath .I use electrical conduit ,thin metal pipes and not as expensive as plumbing pipes .Comes in longer lengths also .Here we can get it up to 40 ft long .11.99 for a 40 ft piece .

Won't need any pipes w/ the new netting as it has 4" holes and our snow if we even get any hopefully won't build up and crash it into the pond. If it does I will just run a rope across the width under the net and hope that will give it some strength. This will be a learning experience and we shall see how all of this goes. Plug your ears as I am doing all of this cuz you may hear me all the way across the country spewing a few choice words out here and there :biggrinangelA:

I froze me buns off today towards the end of it around 3pm working on that net. That is as long as I could take it out there in that ice box! Started out nice this morning and actually took my coat off but as soon as that sun starts to head down it's a done deal. Says it's 34F out there right now but feels like -50F to me!

Sissy, I know you don't like our temperatures here, but now when I go outside there's no bugs. The cold weather kills them all off until next year.
There's only birds and squirrels outside now.
I've never seen a stinkbug and I've only seen cockroaches in a zoo.
