I'd take 70 degrees. Right now it is 43 degrees and hard freeze expected tonight or tomorrow. Also we could see some flurries tomorrow morning!

Got the pond netted yesterday but still need to cut my lilies back. Will have to wait till the weekend.

I have this telescoping rake that is only about 6 inches across. I have discovered if I can can reach the lily stems I can fit them in between the tines of the tiny rake and twist and then pull them off the plant. Might take awhile but sounds better than getting into my 45 degree pond and cutting them back. Burrrrr

Only got up to 55 here, mostly cloudy, and breezy, making it feel chillier! Not ready to, but must put shorts and flip flops away for the winter, I guess. Tonight getting down to 34, and few days this week into the high 20's. Boohoo!!! :bye2: Bye bye beautiful weather, hello gloomy chilly weather.

Did some argueing with my toilet brush vs string algae along the sides of the pond today and as I did the kids kept coming to me following me all around...wondering what the heck I was doing. lol Then they would attack the sides eating (I think) at where I had just been...that or looking for a handout...which I really have to order some wheat germ pellets. I think they were really just asking me for a handout but when I checked the water temp today it was 49 degrees. Ya and COLD as I had my arms in it for over an hour tackling that stuff! I almost got in to get farther down but NO WAY after having my arms in it for that long!
I believe I am just going to let my bubbler (without the head on it) keep running all winter and hope for the best with a heater nearby. I almost shut down my make shift water fall/diy filter, but didn't. Figure the day temps are still in the 50's, even though the nights are getting to be mostly in the 30's...so hate this time of year. Still not sure if I should get an air stone or not...

Another nice day yesterday, sun shinning and it was in the low 60's ( to bad I had to work). Currently 40, today a high of 63 and sunny :). Didn't get my pond covered over the weekend. We did get the tarp out and cleaned off, so will do it this weekend. I have just been scooping out the leaves that are falling into the pond ( which there hasn't been that many ) most of the leaves are falling on the waterfall so will blow them off and put the tarp up until leaves are gone. I still also need to cut back the water lilies. Extended forecast for this weekend is sunny and in the low 60's.

So we had snow today. No snow on the ground as it mixed with rain most of the day. Cold dreary day here. Hard freeze expected tonight and tomorrow.

Checked my pond surface temp. 43 degrees.

We had a hard frost yesterday a.m., got down to I think 34. Brisk is a good word! Dreary days, cloudy, only getting up to 50's. But, my pond still brings me "sunshine" every morning and evening. Quit feeding this past weekend, temps were below 50 steadily. They also quit coming and begging, so that was a good sign as well.
Rebel, I suspect you pulling that string algae got the "kids" excited, as it usually disturbs other stuff, and when I clean my waterfall, all the fish are always at the outlet, happy to capture anything extra that comes their way!

well off to the doctors today and then hopefully get some mulch for around the pond and for the new canna and elephant ear garden ,I have no clue why there is no mulch around here they are cutting lots of trees and they sprayed again by the power towers to kill everything.I was headed to the post office this morning and snapped these out the window

Looks like this is the last week we are going to have daytime temps in the 60's :(. Next week extended forecast says daytime temps are going to be in the 30's to mid 40's. So not looking forward to winter!!!
