Omg! NO RAIN?!? Patti we've had so much rain since 4pm the pond is all but an inch from over flowing! Lol I just went out there to check it again and I found minnows swimming around in the bog! good swimmers huh? Going up stream! Lol.

Lou- prayers to your friend! I know it is a scary time, but God will see them thru, I know it!
Sissy- prayers to hubby also! And to you also, to comfort you and keep your strength up!
Addy- I am sorry to here that with your hubby :( Just anything to do with government right now, leaves a bad taste in my mouth -_-

AND! To top off my WONDERFUL WEEK! With all the flash flooding, my son; driving MY FIREBIRD in rain coming down so hard he can't see, decides to drive it thru a "puddle" -_- to get to his friends house....... Ahhh. Need I say.... It's under water -_-

CE no clue on the shutdown, until one side or the other gives in. Being next to DC it is constantly on our news, with constant updates. Both groups have their feet dug in.

Fishylove, there could be a lot worse things happening to us then no pay, we have always kept a safety buffer, this will just start draining it as the fight goes on. I am more concerned for Sissy, Colleens hubbies and lou.

We are TWENTY degrees above normal...............geez and dry dry dry dry, no rain since august. Grass is brown, plants drying up, pond needs constant water added, Sitting around 85 bouncing to almost 90 during the day. Luckily the humidity is way down, but that drains the pond good old hot air evaporation.

Nope, Fishy, we got no rain yesterday til this morning. Everything outside is once again soaking wet, but pretty sure it's just from the very heavy dew we have been having in this area of late. It's saying I still have 30% chance of isolated showers today, but by looking at the map, it's a pretty bleak chance. I can see you got that one little narrow band of yellow and green yesterday, and it was a slow moving front, so no wonder you got a bunch. Seriously, I think 2", maybe even 3" would simply soak into the ground right now here, unless it came down in a torrential downpour. Saturday 70% chance, so I'll hold out my best hope for then. Temperature highs changes from mid 80's through Sat. to mid 60's on Sunday, so with the temp change like that, hopefully a good front will push through and bring some good thunderstorms along with it. Been wayyyy too mild so far this late summer/fall. Farmers are about done with corn, and that usually never happens where they didn't even have to stop because of rain. I'm glad for them, but now it's time to get some moisture ..... ,please?!

Good Grief!!! They just hired a very old lady in the bakery, and I mean real REAL old, like she looks to be at LEAST 75!!!! And I am NOT kidding!! The woman seems to do very well for her age, but the work is back breakingly hard! She won't be lifting anything heavy I hope! But they are SO desperate to get some workers cause in the last few days people have quit and went elsewhere cause of strike and they think no one will give old granny a hard time for crossing the line... no one will bother her, but just ridiculously unbelievable! Then the store is slowing down big time, lots of people are now choosing to shop elsewhere! The The pharmacy has had over 100 people already moved the prescriptions to another store!

strike countdown begins... three more days to go!

So, do you think that old lady WILL cross the picket line? I would worry for her safety if she did. Old or not, people walking the picket are going to be VERY irate with her if she chooses to cross the line .... maybe she was desperate for any work for money even if only for a few days.

he is home and pharmacy even with my insurance came out to 184 dollars .Now tomorrow doctors and then he has an appointment with an upper gastrel internal doctor and his hemoglobin was down to 8.9 last night and 8.7 this morning .So he is worried about it dropping more .Gosh seems I am learning so much about all this blood stuff .I assumed if your blood pressure was near normal everything was OK ,but turns out not .That is why he could not catch his breath .He could not even walk from our bedroom to his den .His oxygen absorbtion was some what OK but could be better .His feet are swollen from the ride home .Doctor said his heart so far looks OK but he is not a heart specialist and wanted him to see Dr Zachary who is his heart doctor here .Blood thinners he is really worried about since he had to take him off of them for the surgery monday and last time he took them was saturday morning .Doctor said I have to fatten him up as he now weighs only 115 lbs and is 5 ft 10 inches tall so not good. But he has not eaten solid food since saturday morning either and he burns calories fast .Gosh addy I listen to the shooting up there and they said it was a women and she had a child in the car too ,not sure this is true but how horrible and that they killed her .Colleen hope it is not to long on the picket line as that can stress you out also .

Sissy I'm glad the doc's are taking such good care of him and sending him to all the right specialists. Hope they get him all fixed up and that you are able to get him to eat and put on some weight. He is so fortunate to have you there and taking care of him. The more you learn about the problem he is having the better you will know how to deal w/ whatever is wrong and help him get on the road to recovery. Will keep him and you in my prayers.

Lou how is your friend Cindy doing?

Sorry about the strike and all the hard work dumped on ya Colleen and whamo you are getting socked in the face w/ ice balls and sleet..........not good, not good at all! Hurry up and rescue all your plants and heat up your green house and batten down the hatches. Maybe this sunshine we are having here will head up north to you soon!

Was nice and sunny today. Went for my walk, came home and hubby and I dug a huge hole for a tree we need to move cuz I planted a tiny tree right next to the house several yrs ago and now it is a big tree too close to the house. Uh oh I did a bad, bad thing!
Then I spread some grass seed on a big area near the pond where I threw all the excess dirt I dug out where I made that path of rocks next to my pond. Now I am dead :faint:
