As bad as my right hand can hurt I may need to start training my left hand to take over.

I have pain from time to time in my right hand, I wear a copper braclet and a strong magnetic bracelet, both on that hand when the bones swell and hurt. The magnetic bracelet and copper braclet really seem to help take the swelling down from arthritis.

Have you tried taking any Omega-3 for that?

Absolutely beautiful weather this morning. Bright and sunny and cool. This is Seattle Spring or Fall weather at it's best. If it's Spring, you know that you'll have a few months of good weather. In Fall, unfortunately it heralds the start of a sunless 6 months.

But today is also the beginning of football season for me. My team, the UW Huskies begin their season at 7pm!!! Lots of work to do today, then an evening in front of the TV!

So does that cod liver oil really help pain from arthritis Colleen? Sometimes my lower back hurts from it and the CT scan showed lower back degeneration. I take Ibuprofen for it now but wondering if that could be bad in the long run? Drink lots of water when I take it so it won't ruin my kidneys. I do take the Omega fish oil pill each day.

My late hubby was hooked on magnets, bought tons of expensive ones, bracelets, pads for the bed, foot things. I never noticed a difference. But each of us respond differently to different things. I can not use fish oil..........horrible burps, stomach upset all day so take krill oil

Hot and nice here but I'm too tired to do anything in it right now. Fighting sleep and hoping I win!
I've never tried magnets and did use Krill oil for a long time and then switched to Alaska fish oil gels and no bad burp taste from them either and they are cheaper. Hard to say which ones work better as I don't really notice anything when I switch brands on how my health is doing when taking any of them. Maybe if I took nothing I would feel the same.........who knows. Can only go by what the studies say on all that stuff for the long run.

Ex-professional here. Everyone gets joint degeneration if you live long enough. The main thing is not to stress your joints anymore than you have to, that includes not doing a lot of heavy lifting, lowering weight, having a good diet and lifestyle. As far as I know, magnets don't work, but essential fatty acids appear to. If you don't like fish burps, you can get krill oil and coated pills. Natural cod liver oil has a lot of vitamin-A so you gotta be careful of that. I don't like medication and won't take Ibuprofen on a long term basis but that's just me. Diet makes a big difference.

Interesting John on the Ibuprofen. I have been taking the Ibuprofen (3 each day) every day that I went on my 6 mile walk to prevent the pain I was having in my back after my walks. Addy warned me that taking too much was not good for the kidneys. I did not realize that it was bad for you stomach and digestive tract. I have been having problems w/ pain in my intestines and swallowing meat and bread and am now going in for a possible stretching of my esophagus if needed due to scarring along the walls. Wonder if the Ibuprofen could have something to do w/ the scarring or other problems? I will ask the G.I doc.
I have not taken any Ibuprofen since this last episode of pain/fever from the stomach issues and am feeling great now but I was given a high dosage of Flagyl and also started taking probiotics each day. Not really liking the idea of having to take Prilosec or something similar to prevent reflux if I have that either as have heard bad things about taking PPI's forever also. Bought some Betaine HCL tabs and thought maybe they might be better if I might have low acid instead of high. Hard to know what one's condition exactly is unless they run specific tests to find out and seems as tho the doc's are more eager to just give you a pill and hope it works.
