ran out of room in the truck for rocks so next time will get more .Had to get other stuff and there was a guy fishing that caught a big trout .The hotel has a big truck and equipment come in 2 times a year to remove the rocks that wash down so that the stream does not flood that runs between the hotel and casino .So many rocks and only 2 hands to gather them and so much to see and Chief Hicks of the Cherokee Tribe is just so nice to speak too ,He has 5 children and one beautiful wife .

lucky you sissy! A friend of mine has access to a (nebraska) canyon about 30 mins from me since we work together we warned the boss when it cools down (and today it is 101 here) were both taking the same day off to go rock hunting :D yaaaaaa!!!! Since it is hot today I decided it was time to can again....39 pints and quarts later of salsa, whole/sliced tomatoes, snappy tom (spicy tj) and regular tomato juice, ya 4 5 gal buckets of mators done, until the next batch...as we have tons of green tomatoes yet. Only sliced my thumb twice :D sharp knives and I do not get along together with wet hands. JW thoughts and prayers to you!!

Thanks for your prayers guys and looks like I have to get an endoscopy done to see if my esophagus has scar tissue from maybe acid reflux causing it to be narrow. Doc thinks that is why I have trouble swallowing certain foods like meat and bread etc. I have to drink a bunch of water at times to get it to go down or I feel like I will choke to death. If he finds that is the problem he will enlarge it but he also said it does not always last and you have to have it done once in awhile to correct it again. Sheesh not looking forward to the one time doing it let alone again and again.
I am a healthy person for the most part and don't even take any prescription meds and I walk a lot so I don't like all this stuff going on. I'm sure I will be fine eventually but don't like dealing w/ all this rigamaroll and doctor visits. I say lets get back to the fun and games of life and get this over with :claphands:

We are having a thunderstorm w/ pouring rain right now and hubby is outside BBQ'ing ribs...........poor hubby :cheerful:

J.W., one of my favorite posters, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

As for the weather, it has been raining cats and dogs here on and off for 2 days. Today, I was out driving, and the rain was one of the heaviest I've ever seen in my life. It was like having a person on the roof of my car just pouring buckets of water on the windshield as I drove. Amazing. For the pond, I already have the aux pump set up to pump water directly into the drains and I've had to do that a couple of times already. On the plus side, the water in my pond is crystal clear.

I pulled a muscle I did not know I even had, somewhere my left leg connects to the socket, it burns a little if I move it the wrong way. After hacking it back, I tried dragging the big overgrown Sweet flag out of the bottom pond, as it was badly in need of a massive hack and slash! the sweet flag was a massive root ball attached to a large basket of heavy clay. It has not been divided for at least 20 years, and it must have weighed 100 pounds and was taking way, way too much space in the bottom pond. So there I was, dragging the plant out of the bottom pond at one am in the wees hours of night, and that thing kicked and screamed bloody murder all the way out, it was a big fight to get it out of the pond. I thought I had it a couple times but it fought back and slipped back into the pond making a big wave! I finally pulled it out, rolled it out more like it, and then all three connecting ponds turned a murky color till dawn.

Now there is much more room for the lillys and the fish. Sometimes you just have to be cruel, but I am sure the sweet flag pieces I planted back will spread and do better now. I think it was so overgrown it was getting root rot as it was just to overgrown, but at least the whole plant had a nice sweet smell, and my hands and wet shirt smelled of sweet flag!

The other bigger plant sticking out of the edge of the middle pond is the yellow flag, and it is looking quite overgrown too, but that big thing is way to big for me to move, so I will have to hack the sides for now....

First two pictures are what remains of the sweet flag, it fill uo my big wheel barrel!

Thank you Lou and John for the well wishes. I will be fine and I agree John we got hit w/ some big rains and thought the new gutters would overflow but they did their job but if it would have rained any harder they would have flowed over like Niagara Falls! I have seen the rain do that one other time to our gutters and when they overflow they make a mud mess anywhere there is dirt on the ground below.
Today tho is nice and sunny w/ the promise of more of the same to follow for the next several days.
Loving it

Pulled muscle in leg feels back to normal now, and I have the long weekend off!! Was going to do little or nothing today, but dishes needed doing, vacumed poppy hair away, changed couch throws, did several loads of laundry, now I am having a coffee and going out of house and play with the rocks by the pond some more....

It rained all night so I won'have to water, supposed to be another hot day, temperature right now is 68 degrees, should reach 84 later today. I think this is the first time we had a good rain all month!!

By the way, I am left handed.

Glad your leg is healing and you have the weekend off too! Have fun playing w/ your rocks and enjoy the warmth from that nice sunshine before it all disappears

Glad to hear that your leg is doing better. I've found that whether it's muscular or tendon, a good rub down and some heat will help relax it.

I have that root ball in my pond too, but I never thought to name it! I actually pulled some out and gave it to a neighbor. But otherwise, I've left it as is.

Wifey tells me all the time that I've got plenty of rocks, in my head! Badda Boom. :)

We took a week off and drove to PEI and Nova scotia, and guess what I brought bach for a souvenier? One red sandstone from PEI and two dark gray chunks of some as-yet-unidentified stone from N.S.!!!
