jw, 6 miles is a very long walk. My suggestions are
1) Very good shoes
2) A back brace, just an elastic one. You can take it with you and wear it during the 2nd half of the walk
3) I'd actually consider doing two 3 mile walks rather than one long one. It's always best to spread exercise out and do a variety.

i just have to tell you my dear old mother just loves my cobbling, her and my other sister came over the other day to see my hard work. and she said it reminds her of back home on the farm, when her mom and dad used to cobble out by the farm house, and she remembers her mother doing the same thing! Cobbling must be in my blood!

Ha Ha Colleen think you are right it has been handed down to you! I think rocks are in my blood too. I know kidney stones are, lol!
Maybe I could make a kidney stone path?

Today our weather is lovely again and have to beat it down to the rental house to whack bushes, trees and vines that are overtaking the tenant. He is a big fella but I fear if we wait too long we won't be able to find him in their soon :biggrinangelA:

Man, lots has happened in the last couple of days while I was gone out of state. Glad you're better, JW, and hope that you figure out what is going on, and no surgery is required. I sometimes have acid reflux, but have found that if I take 1/2 of the pill (using the hard pills, not the capsules), for maybe 2-3 days in a row, I can take 1/2 pill every other day, and then sometimes move it to every 2-3 days. I went off of them after only being on them for maybe 1.5 months total, and it was almost a month before I had heart burn. So, now I take one at the first signs of heart burn, it takes 12 hours or so to kick in, but then no worries. My stomach hurts really bad when I have heart burn situation going on.
Sissy, looks like you have gathered lots of rocks, and Colleen your path looks fabulous! OMG, that's is soooo nice what you have done. I'm gathering rocks, too, and although it seems like I gathered a ton each time, they sure don't make a very large pile! I will be reworking the stream this fall/winter, when the plants all die back, as right now I can't see what is what, parrots feather completely covering the stream, you can't even see any water or the rock bridge. I am going to make a shelf on the edge for rocks, and remove the flat rocks that are falling to the bottom of the stream. I'll make the stream deeper, and have the ledge where the rocks are barely under water when the stream is running, then next level flat stones maybe so that it will hold down the liner.

Sissy I think you have the right seeds. Guess the dark ones are ripe and the green ones are not. So sounds like only the black ones will produce trees. Lucky you, just plant them in soil and let them grow. This site tells you how to grow the seeds: http://www.junglemusic.net/articles/Trachycarpus, the Windmill Palm/windmill_palm.html

SEEDS AND FLOWERS
Flowers are branched and appear from the stem among the leaves. Trachycarpus are dioecious trees. There are males and females. This means that, to produce viable seeds, one must have pollen from a male flower make its way to the female blossoms. The flowers appear within the crown of leaves and are are typically yellow or tan in color. They are branched blossoms and when pollinated produce small, black fruited seeds. The appearance of the cleaned seeds varies within the group of species, but no species has large seeds. Immature seeds are green. One knows that the seeds are mature when they turn black and fall off the flower easily.
