Yeppers, sunny here all day, windy, and warm. Got my water hyacinths I ordered through Ebay, so put them in the goldfish pond, and then came inside (after mowing) to make a netted ring for the koi pond. Got it finished so will put some in it in the koi pond in the a.m. Peepers singing, but not on my pond yet.
Saw this monster crossing the road when I was heading to work. He came from my farm pond, heading across to the ditch on the other side, which is where SHE laid her eggs last year. At least 14" from front to back edge of shell, head and tail not included. Snapper for sure, don't think it's an alligator snapper, though. No ridges down the middle of her back. Small pics, cause I took it with my phone. Sorry about that! Didn't have time to get camera, and barely got there in time to catch this pic!

Guess the warm weather has prompted her to release her eggs again. Last year, the neighbors had caught about a dozen of them in the spring, then realized they were snapping turtles, and released them. And, I found 2 in my skimmer in I think it was September, very tiny, just born infants, about 1" in diameter.
