Was a very mild day here today so decided to move all the junk off the deck, porch around the whole house so we can get Mr painter man here to start prepping of the house painting project ahead. Oh yep that'll cost us the big bucks but hasn't been painted in almost 13yrs and we are not climbing up on giant ladders on this double decker house. We don't need to break our bones at our ages of perfection. Think we'll go w/ a medium gray w/ black trim this time w/ the white trim that is part of the windows. I saw a house like that when I was out walking and I really liked the look of the gray and black w/ white windows. Stayed nice and cool for me all day, well sun came out a few times but no biggy as I had my lemOnade handy :cheerful:

That sounds very pretty, JW. I like gray and black and the white windows will will pop out! My house is a light gray siding, and white windows. I'd like to put maroon shutters to go with the maroon and white barn, but have never done that. Someday ... maybe. Painted my mailbox maroon, so that should help, and the white post for it. Little by little my barns and so forth are getting new roofs and siding. This year I did too much traveling to do any major repairs, maybe next year.
It was a beautiful 82 here today, much lower humidity, and supposed to go down to 63 tonight, so windows and doors are open to the outside air, and it's very nice in here.

So sorry to hear about you getting into that land bee nest, Sissy! OUCH!!! Sounds like maybe yellow jackets, which nest in the ground and are VERY defensive if you mess with their nest area! Glad you got rid of them with gas, that'll teach those bad boys!
It got really nice and cool last night, about 66, so windows were open. Getting warmer now, going to close house up for the day, see if it stays cooler. Lows at night getting down to 60's next few days, so see no need to run the AC.

So sorry about those bees getting you good sissy. Hope you feel better soon.
Cloudy here too and only 55F. They say we will see Mr Sun sometime again today. Having a driveway put in right now from our driveway to the shop. Tired of leaving big mucked up troughs from truck tires through the grass out there. This will fix it and will look good too. Should only take about 3 hrs they say. Hate to see them take away all that good dirt/sod mixture tho but hubby says I can't keep it. It's free to get rid of so that's a plus.

Yippee, guess what hubby asked them if they could dump some of the good dirt/sod in some really low spots out on our yard along the road and they will do it. They'd rather do that then haul it away so at least it will be used here. Winner, winner chicken dinner :claphands:

I agree with Sissy. Glad you got to keep your good dirt, JW. Now you have to spread it out and work, but that's ok, cause you're going to have some sunshine and will enjoy being outside in the sunshine working, right?
Here, another pretty nice day. Humidity is low for this time of year, and the temps have been lower, too, or maybe I'm just thinking of last year's heat, humidity and drought! Soooo glad it's not 95 and 100% humidity, and at this point last year, we had not had any rain for a month. Not the case this year, we are "normal" this year. Everything is green and happy! :blueflower:

I totally agree with both of you ladies, JW and Sissy! My former father in law gave me a really nice compliment ... through my sister in law ... the other day. He said I was the hardest working woman he had ever met! Said I always jumped right in there and worked as hard as a man (saying it in a nice way LOL). He always did like me. I think keeping busy and having hobbies like gardening, and fishing, and walking, and ponding, is what keeps us all young!
