I feel better now, I think it may not be too bad, cause I mixed up the flood of 2005 with the worse one that hit here in 1995! The flood will be like the flood of 2005 they said, which the water only came to the front flower bed and all turned out fine, for me! I will post pictures when the big water gets here! :)

Hope you are right Colleen that it won't be as bad as you first thought it would be. Stay safe and prayers coming your way!
It finally stopped raining here for a few hours anyways. Gosh it's cold tho but I refuse to give up my shorts to long pants :cheerful:

My hubby says he is just going to march over to the dad and boys home and serve them the papers. If only one gets served tomorrow then the other one will get served another time. Don't think my hubby liked my idea of pretending to deliver a box for them to sign for and then slap the papers down. Or did he like my idea to fake a car accident out front of their gate which they always leave open. My sis could park her car in front of the gate and then hubby could come behind her in his car and pretend to yell at my sister for causing the accident. That would bring them out to see what all the commotion was about and then slappo of the papers on them both. Think both my sis and hubby think I have gone bonkers. Maybe the stress of all this is messing w/ my brain waves :bye2:

Not sure how long my sis has to hear a response from the sellers but hope by tomorrow she at least hears from her real estate guy who might have heard from their real estate lady something about what is going on. We are all stressed around this house now about one thing or the other. God will have to be our strength to get us through all this turmoil. We can't do it ourselves,we need Him :biggrinangelA:

Good Grief now I am freaked out again! The Alberta Emergency Alert just went off and interuped the news, more evacuations, all schools every where in the big city of Calgary Alberta are going to be closed tomorrow! Now I just heard that it will be THREE TIMES as Bad as 2005!! The water has a long way to come to get here, now I hear the flood won't peak till Monday or Tuesday here in Medicine Hat! They are setting up four more emergency centres in Calgary tonight. Non stop news on Global News tonight ....

Colleen, I grew up in Calgary and I have never heard of so many people and communities being evacuated. The zoo has even moved the big cats from their cages to the Calgary court house! Do what you can to keep yourselves and your valuables safe for when the water reaches you.

Its like a nightmare up in Calgary, and I get to see it coming like a train wreak! Now I hear a bridge may collapse just now on the news, I just hope the water will thin out before it gets here! I don't want my fish to swim out of the pond!

Colleen can you do a lot of sand bags around the pond or will it be even deeper than that?

You have our prayers and all that live up there...............

I would hate to hear of your pond being overwhelmed and you losing your fish. Maybe think of a way you could get them into some bins or a kiddie pool in your kitchen just in case?

Thanks Addy, The city will drop off sand bags as they do every time it floods, and I hear they have new big sandbags that they will deploy that are filled with a back hoe. Those big giant sandbags will be used to make a berm on the river. Here I will see some flooding from the creek, as the river gets high it backs up the creek, and the creek overflows here. The city uses those big sandbags at the creek too, but drops off lots of pellets of sandbags on my block when necessary. Then I will get some and line the front yard like last time as that is the lowest level. my ponds are all built up and I sure hope that the water won't get that high here, but the news is not looking good. I just hope that the worst won't reach me! At least it won't get here till Monday at the earliest!

I have two hundred gallon horse troughs that I set up high last time we were at risk, and just hoping that the fish will all fit in there now!! The Koi are quite big, the top pond is built up a foot and a half above ground. The flood of 1995 was the worst and never quite made it to the pond, but now I am not sure how high it will be here, there are still calculating the flow and then they are usually off and it is really just a guess I have found, after 22 years and many flood threats. The flood scares me the most, and this I flood looks very bad so far....

Dams upstream are having no choice but to open the flood gates because the dams are starting to overflow. Communities immediately downstream are being evacuated. (A few hours west of Colleen)
The large sports arena in Calgary, The Saddledome, has water up to the 12th row of seats.
