Ha ha ha, having a coffee too right now, but my face is froze cause I just got out of the dentist office, had the last of the "lead" taken out of my head! They had to give me extra freezing on the one tooth cause it just would not go to "sleep" so when they drilled the old filling out, I felt pain and just about jumped out of my chair. Now with all the extra "freezing" my mouth won't move and I am having a hard time getting my lips wrapped aound the coffee cup. My Nose is froze too!

We are currently at 36 F, but going down to only 20 tonight, so I will have to cover some of the tulups so they don't freeze too hard.

we get these pop up thunderstorms from the heating of the day but usually only last for a few minutes to half an hour and then sun comes .We got heavy dew last night and I don't want to go out and walk and drive lawnmower all over damp grass .My dad always told me never to walk on morning dew because the grass blades need it to grow stronger roots .Something i have gone by since my first house and I always had a nice lawn ,so I just can't do it .Hard enough to grow grass in clay soil so don't want to ruin all my hard work .

78 here already with possible storms coming in this afternoon. The new deck should be finished in a couple of hours- YAH, no more having to walk down to the ponds to check on them. I put the spawning mops in the large pond this morning. Lots of foam and fishy smell. Lost a large female last week. Think she jumped when they were spawning and the net wasn't tight around the edges. It was the pure black I got last year and 20". She was actually a Chigoi, dark bronze and almost impossible to see in the pond.

:cold: April 8th we had a deep freeze one night that hit down to 15*F with 30mph wind with gusts. Today, our fears have come to light. This late deep freeze has wiped out 85% of our hard red winter wheat crop, most of the wheat is laying down like someone rolled it, due to severe stem damage. :pissedoff: :banghead3: If we were to bring it to harvest, then the we would encounter the "hallow white head" issue where wheat heads form with zero or just a couple of grains likely making around 6 bu. per acre. Hopefully, the insurance company will adjust it to be at total loss, but they likely are going to force us to continue to water a small strip of the damage wheat, to bring it to maturity, due to a silly insurance company rule. Hopefully, the insurance will cover our fall and winter input costs that we already put into the crop. In about a week, we expect the damaged crop to turn black. Now, due to the water conservation agency, we don't have enough water allowance to irrigate an emergency crop. :censored:

We have had 25*F freezes this late, but we never have this type of deep freeze, down to 15*F with high winds, so late into April. My dad has been farming for almost 45 years and this is a first for him to have a wheat crop failture due to this. :grumble:

I just hope this year is not going to be too hot nor too dry like the past couple years so we can try to recuperate with our summer crops.

Our weather here is not that great either, we got down to 20 last night and I had to scrape the ice off the windshield! :(

Sunny and warmer today.......57F right now. Hubby chopped down the tree today that was right next to the new wood shed he built. He had to cuz it was so close he couldn't even put the gutters on the shed cuz the tree was in the way. So tree was not supposed to come down on my little fir tree according to his calculations and chain hooked up to truck pulling on tree trunk while I drove truck away pulling tree...............guess you know where the darn tree landed.........yep right on my little tree. Fortunately it just bent a couple small branches but why oh why would not a person cut a tree down first before one builds a shed?
