Cape, I wondered if you would comment about the Pieres. They had this in one of the mini seminars, and called it the same thing as on the tag, so maybe what you are talking about is a similar type of plant, too. I looked up the word you used, and got a bunch of galaxy pics! Maybe you misspelled it? :)
I doubled checked the spelling, I had it right BUT it is the "common name" of the Pieres Japonica species LOL. If you want to look it up again, try "andromeda plant" ... We have 2 varieties in the yard here (five plants total). One type has the white flowers like the one Colleen posted, the other has red flowers ... the little bells look red til they open, then are a deep pink ... I'd post pictures of ours, but they are still in the budding up stage. At maturity, they do get woody, but they are so pretty, and I love the smell of them.

Spring peepers and other toads are out also here! Hearing that sound is the best part of the new spring! If only the temps will stay were they are at!

We had ice on the ponds this morning! It was a very cold morning indeed! -10c

But by noon most of the ice was gone, and I took the puppies to the river to explore the woods, river is now ice free too! :)

I hear you j.w it’s getting tiresome. We had wonderful weather on vacation in Florida and now we are back to the same old stuff. There is still ice on our pond and there is a storm coming that could bring freezing rain and ice pellets… grrrr. I took my snow tires off for the long road trip south.

It was nice today mid 70s untill the storms rolled through. Tornado Warning went off at work and we all had to squeeze into a small non vented rest room with a bunch of smelly workers! We had to stay there for 15 minutes! The area of rotation that started the warning was almost 20 miles away. They triger it anyways because we are a small county and the system is controled by county police. Any way it is raining now.

Every time there is a tornado warning, I head outside with my camera and wait for it. I love thunderstorms and the lighting they make. Seems like most of the good storms go on when I'm at work. Good thing there is a window right in my work station.

It has been raining here for the last 2 days. We have needed the rain tho. Pond is still clear as can be. This rain can only help. The toads were out singing a few nights ago. Now its all quiet at the pond. I hope this cold snap won't kill the plants in the bog that have started to grow this year.
