Ryan, you're making it harder on yourself than you need to. My large bog on the goldfish pond is fed with one pump, that is sitting on a milk crate in the pond, deepest part, but then 14" from the bottom. It goes to the bog with one pipe, then attaches to the PVC which then splits with a T and I have 2 runs. here are a couple of pics of the layout of the pipes. I always have these pics handy, as others have asked how to do the pipes, and I work by pictures myself, so took a lot when I was creating the bog.

I have caps on the ends, and can simply pull them off (never glued them, and only one has come off randomly all year, so pushing them on hard worked for me) to flush the lines. I also made a connector so instead of pumping pond water through the pipes, I can use my well water (I would not recommend this if your only water is city water that is chlorinated, though) to flush the pipes. It doesn't take long to flush them, though. And, I put the holes in the pipes facing down, put an extra strip of liner under them. That way the water is going through all the pea gravel, not just shooting straight up.
Have fun with your bog build/rebuild! We'll be waiting for pics after the weekend you know ....

Turned rather nice here but a bit windy. Got my walk in and somebody threw out some old black water hoses......just the thing for ponding as those black ones blend in nice and work great on air pumps and on submersible fountain pumps!

I tend to over think things. I want to make sure that all of the area in the bog is being supplied with water. Since mine is more over of a triangle shape. The pictures help.
My bog is fed by the external pump, water pulled from near the bottom of the pond, right into the bog. I have two 25 foot long legs of pvc, with slits, coming off one T from the pump input.

It keeps the pond in perfect shape, I love the plants that grow in it. The bog is around 4-5 feet wide, the pond 10-20 foot wide.

It is cloudy and cooler, looks like rain is coming, maybe white fluffy stuff too! Currently only 36 degrees, going to only 20 degrees overnight! That sucks big time cause I am sick of cold wet weather, and my cute fat Poppy will refuse to go outside in the cold wet weather as she is made of brown sugar and everything nice! :)
