Good grief Addy's only 18! ! I thought things had chilled off here, currently only 30 degrees! Last night it snowed and rained and snowed .... most is melted but that cool damp weather chilled me to to bone last night! Thank goodness for Fat Poppys cause they kept me warm!

Snapped these pictures right at sundown last night, just a short time before the storm! Pond looks so big now that water really moving fast and plant's look so small!

It was 32 when I got up, already at 39, going up to 50 today. Warmer even tomorrow and weekend, and sunny! Woohoo, I'm loving it!!! Will hopefully take some flower pics tonight, as hyacinths are finally opening up, and I have a few daffodils open. Poor things are having a hard time with the morning freezing temps, but they are doing fine so far, just not going to be as beautiful a display as some years. Wondering if I should have tossed some fertilizer on them as soon as they popped through the ground? May do that tonight for the tulips, or half of them, see if it makes a difference in their bloom time.

I fertilize all my bulbs in the fall so they have a good start on spring and so far most are open .Love to just sit on the wall there and smell them .

Awesome rocks, Sissy ... you ROCK!!!! And, can't wait to see the big root, too ... um hope Haro doesn't catch wind of that last comment ...
You have me thinking I may need to head back to the creek bridge by my friend's house and pick up the larger rocks I put to the side in the sand, but did not haul up the embankment yet. I may do that on Sat. a.m., THEN go visit my friend. I don't want her helping me haul rocks up the creek bank. I thought she was going to take some home herself, and I was going to help her do that! She just helped me, which was great, too! Yep, I may have to go rock hunting this weekend, before it rains again and makes the creek high again. I sure don't want to slip and fall in, though, as the water here would be VERY cold if that happened!
For some strange reason, someone has given folks the impression that I have a dirty mind!? Nothing could be further from the truth! Just ask my wi... on second thought, don't ask her! And btw, regardless of what you may have read in another thread, NOTHING will ever get ME into a Speedo!!!!! :yikesu: :nono:

It got up to 64 here, I like it when the weather man surprises me with warmer temps in spring than predicted! Sun shining all day today, too. Wish I didn't have to have worked, but messed around outside after work. Tomorrow, warmer yet, but yesterday they said 60 for tomorrow, so maybe closer to 70! I'm loving it! :sun_smiley: :blueflower: :glassesy:
And I finally got a few pics of some flowers in my yard. They are not nearly "full splendor" yet, hyacinths are only about halfway open, but you get the idea. Enjoy!

Got in the first feeding of the year today. Started with something easy for them Cheerios. Once they figured out there was food, it was a all out frenzy to eat as much as they could. I was keeping an eye on who was eating so when the pigs were off swimming on the other end of the pond, I would throw some more food for the ones that were still looking for food. Water is about 50*. Saturday I'm digging up the bog to fix the broken pipe, add a new pipe run and add some clean outs. Still not sure how I'm going to do the pipe layout yet. I plan on feeding the bog with one pump that is only for the bog, but I'm unsure where to place it too. I want to keep it on the opposite side of the pond that the bog is on, but that would be the deep end, and I don't want to have a pump down there during the winter taking away all the warm water that they might have. I also don't want to have a pump just laying in the pond either. I wish I had another skimmer box to put it in. Grr. Addy and CE. how did you feed your bogs? Did you have one pipe coming in and spliting into 2 pipes or 2 pipes coming in from the pump? I'm also getting another liner for the bog. I have the current pipe laying right on the bottom of the liner now, and I'm a bit worried that over time, the water coming out of the feed pipe with wear a hole thru the liner. Not looking forward to digging out almost 3,000lbs of pea gravel.
