Well, it's been snowing all day long, except for maybe an hour this afternoon. Very small particles, though, and was very wet snow early on, so even though I think it might have added up to way more had it been dryer, according to the internet, we have gotten only 3.2" so far. Not sure who measures it and how, but I know I was stepping through snow that was close to the top of my ankle boots, so more like 5". I guess it's blowing and drifting now. Here's what it looked like just a little while ago. Love how the flash reflects off the snow flakes.

Weather.com says 2-4" more tonight, but I'm hoping not that much. All schools in the area have closed for tomorrow, which is a good thing, as there will be that many less drivers on the road. I'll make it to work, just need to get up earlier and leave for work giving myself twice as much time to get to work. I'm a dedicated worker, LOL
Anyone that is driving tonight or tomorrow in the midwest, be careful! Seems this storm has traveled south to north, and the east winds we had this morning stopped the storm which is why it hung around so darn long.
Yikes, I think I just saw a mouse come out from under the couch which is right next to my recliner I'm sitting in. :yikesu: Looks like I'll be buying mouse traps tomorrow. This means war. I thought the two my cat brought out were the only ones, guess I was wrong, and sure don't want them to take over! I'm so irritated, have lived in this house for 3.5 years, and this is the first time I've had mice, except for the one in the toaster last summer. LOL
Time for bed. Good thing I'm not afraid of mice, or I'd never fall asleep! :goodnight:

Dang, Bullfrog, that's wishful thinking huh? I hope you get the rain, though. Around here, if the percentage is not above 40%, we don't even pay attention. I think it's so the weather people can cover their butts if we get a tiny shower.
Got more snow last night, still snowing, but very fine small stuff. If I'm reading the weather.com site, looks like we got just over 7" total. It's blowing still, and the lighter snow on top is drifting, but I'll be heading to work, just give myself extra time to get there. Have some country roads (3 miles) then county highway (7 miles) then interstate (11 miles) and city roads the last part, so I should be good to go. I have 4WD truck as my back up vehicle, and it does really well in the snow, plus it has brand spanking new tires on it. Woohoo!!! Had to drive it through a long drift that was over 12" deep to get it out of the barn, but the tractor with the scoop was behind it. That wasn't too smart. LOL But, it walked right through the drift in 4WD, no problem. Attorney I work for is probably going to say she can't get to court/work because of the snow. She has a Jeep Commander with brand new tires for goodness sake!!!! I think she wants to stay home and play in the snow with her kids. Problem is that the first 4" is very heavy and icy underneath, and the top stuff is blowing around, too dry. So, good luck!

Yep, still snowing here. Ugh. Has been since Saturday night but its a really fine sugar snow. Only have a few inches. I just want spring to get here. Saw a fox running down the side walk last night so we will be keeping a close eye on the fish in the pond and will have mr. Gunner in the back yard a lot more now this summer. Our beagle will give mr fox a good run.

Good boy, Mr. Gunner! I drove the 3 miles of back roads, lots of drifts, no problem for the truck, but stopped when I got to the blacktop, which is a county road, like a highway. I called my boss and asked if she was going to court or possibly to the office instead. No need for me to go to the office as I would not have enough work to keep me busy this morning, much less all day. So, decided to go back home. She called and said she's also staying home. Cross stitching, here I come! May even vacuum and dust first! Sure going to make the best out of this day. Tomorrow will be better. A little sunshine today will melt the frozen slush off of the roads if they plow them to show the pavement.

Hahahaha that's awesome, JW! I could sit out on my front porch and besides my one neighbor, no one would see me, unless they had binoculars that could see well over a mile away.
This poor robin looks so cold! Look at his/her feet, they are covered with ice. Poor thing ...

And these sparrows worked like a team. They would go to the bird feeder, and it's as if one of them heard the gust of wind coming, and they would fly as a team to the pile of skids to shelter them from the north winds.

This icicle was formed by the winds with some help from the coco liner on the deck planter above it.

This is a pic of what the counted cross stitch Christmas tree skirt will look like when it's finished, minus the presents.

This past weekend I got the fox finished, and this pic shows what was completed so far as of yesterday.

Today I did the rabbit, took me about 4 hours just to do that little guy!

Going to try to get the trees and so forth on the right side done this afternoon, but have a meeting tonight, if it hasn't been cancelled because of the snow and bad roads. A person can get a lot accomplished on a snowy day, if they want to. Last year this time I was outside enjoying pretty flowers.
