I like to think I can take 'em as well as dish 'em out. BTW, your little sign is very appropriate... when I worked for Lands & Forests I lived at Wrong Lake! :highfive:

Those of us who like to joke and have fun we must learn to take it back on the chin . It would be a pretty dull world w/o some humor and I'm full of it and so are you

Went out to the pond today and it seems to be really cloudy right now. Almost seems like all the water in the bog is coming up from one area so I'm not sure if when the bog froze this winter, something broke. So not looking forward to taking out the almost 3,000 pounds of pea gravel in the bog to see whats going on. If it comes to that, it will give me a chance to change some of the plumbing in the bog and add a clean out pipe too.

Oh the things I get myself into...
Brandonsdad, go to where the water is just pouring up and out. It might be cold, well will be cold, stick you hand down, follow the water flow, you will be able to feel down to the pipe, feel around, I would be shocked if your pipe is broken, it is open, i.e. holes for water flow, which means holes to release ice pressure. Mine is deep, about 2.5 feet, but even the pipes out in the open, no gravel no insulation have not broken. I have about 8 feet of different exposed pipes, I leave the ends open during the winter. The one pond had 7 inches of ice on it and the pipes are still fine.

You might have tracking, part of your bog is frozen so the water made a path. Stir the gravel up to remove the path the water is taking.

Dang, 60 something yesterday all day, today didn't get above 40. And, right when I was really getting used to the 60's too. Oh, well, I did see where this month was supposed to be either normal or below normal, and I think April and May normal, so that means no high temps like we had last year this time, but that's ok. Maybe things will get back to something of normalcy.
My fish sure enjoyed the warm temps and the light rain. Was so nice to see them up at the top, swimming around. Today, back huddled together, or under the "garages". I'm sure sold on giving them something to hide under. And, with the lily pots or pump or something on top of all of the pots, sure don't have to worry about something getting to them way down there.
Was cloudy and glooming looking all day here today, must be what JW has pretty often there, so I'm sure glad you had nice weather the last couple of days, JW! And, I wouldn't try to steal any of your sunshine, since you don't get it very often, but if you could share a little ....

We lost our sunshine here now and I'm sure it will be coming your way CE. It always ends up back there but I did so enjoy it for the short visit. Thank you for letting it visit us for a bit. Got a lot of pruning, weeding and walking in while it was dry and warm. Hubby came home w/ ten rectangle pieces of slate. Don't know what to do w/ them but they are definitely flat!

Wow, neat slate! I'm sure you will figure out something really neat to make with them. We want to see pics when you figure that out! Or, maybe you should have a contest, "What can we make out of 10 rectangular pieces of slate?"

Whe it warms up a bit I'll take a look at it. Right now the water is blah, but I'm just hoping its because nothing is growing in the bog at the moment so its just going back into the pond. I've got my dad ready to help me take the pea gravel out of the bog when the time comes. I learned a lot this winter with some things that I need to do different with the bog. I Know that when we pull the gravel out I'm going to add a clean out and have 2 pipes on the bottom instead of one running down the center. Plan is to run a pump for the bog and another for the water fall. Will be taking lots of pictures this time when I do it.

I noticed that part of the bog was frozen solid in the corner where the feed pipe is a few feet away. I want to use the whole area of the bog, not just section down the center where the feed pipe is.
