It was just an unexpected spit, the swirl coming back down from the storm that just hit us. Nothing significant.

It was up to 49 here today. Very sunny, beautiful day ... but I had to work. Hoping tomorrow is sunny as well, since going up to closer to 60 tomorrow. Looks like 50's the next week, too, so I'm hoping these spring bulbs will really start shooting out the flowers.

Our 70-80 degree weather dissapeared and turned into a cold winter storm two days ago. Closing all the moutain passes, leading in and out of this valley for 6 hours, due to heavy snow. Raining here, in the valley for two days, and coming down still at 2am Sat morning.
The last line in my last post was "I wish the sun would go away" (having algae issues), didn't include so much water in those clouds. Not complaining at all about the rain, just what it does when it gets this wet. Running water, and everything it can carry with it, all has to go somewhere......like where algae lives!
I did build up a slope around the pond area. But, within that area, there are some places that will pool water if given enough to hold. Not the kind of weather that we get very often around here, but we will take every drop of water that nature wants to give.... for the greater good of things it brings to the desert floor, and all that comes of it.
The forcast calls for the return of 80 degree weather. That will last for a very short while and our Spring, will not be sprung....but be over. Summer comes fast, and stays far too long.

Started out the morning ... well if you can call daylight savings time 9:30 a.m. still morning!!! ... at 61 degrees! They sure didn't predict this, thought only supposed to get up to 50 today. And, was sunny early and didn't start raining until after noon.
Fish seem to think the light rain is possibly food for them, noticed all the koi at the surface. Worried at first, until I realized they just came to the surface because of the rain. :goldfish:  :goldfish:

Before the rain arrived, I started removing old growth from some of my plants, and noticed new growth everywhere! Spring is definitely on the way. Need to get my thermometer put back into the pond to see what the surface temp is now. I'm loving it!!!

None of my lilies have leaves growing up toward the surface, but many have leaves at the pot level. You're way ahead of me, Addy! That's great. Can't wait to see more flower blooms from everyone as spring arrives for us all.

Been raining here all weekend. I'm not complaining since we really need the rain right now. I was in the basement yesterday when I heard what sounded like a huge waterfall right out the basement door. Open the door, great, gutters are overflowing and its pouring rain. I didn't want to deal with water flooding the patio area from the walk out so me being the nice guy that I am, I get the ladder out and climb on the roof to unclog the downspout. Did a quick inspection of the rest of the gutters since I was already wet, but the rest of them looked fine.

Went out to the pond today and it seems to be really cloudy right now. Almost seems like all the water in the bog is coming up from one area so I'm not sure if when the bog froze this winter, something broke. So not looking forward to taking out the almost 3,000 pounds of pea gravel in the bog to see whats going on. If it comes to that, it will give me a chance to change some of the plumbing in the bog and add a clean out pipe too.

Oh the things I get myself into...

Ryan, I can't imagine you have a broken pipe in your bog, unless it's set up that it would have froze down that deep. But, since you don't have a clean out pipe, I'd say add that first, flush it out, and then see how it goes. It's also possible that part of the bog is still frozen, and in another day or so it will all be completely thawed out and it will run properly. Good luck!!!
Rained most of yesterday afternoon, everything is saturated and standing water again, so this is good news for the ground, which needed a replenishment from last summer's drought. Down to 40 this morning. Hoping for some sunshine soon!

I know it's not frozen because I put gallons of hot water in it when I was trying to get it thawed out. I have a plumber friend who has a video snake. Gonna try running that down the pipe and see what's going on. It maybe nothing at all. But I do need to add the clean out so I might as well dig it out I guess.

Good Morning everybody!! Finally a day off and I am going to plant more seedlings. This time of the year I am quite busy in my greenhouse so I am sorry if I have not been around too much these days. My hubby is much better these days and wants to hang out with me and go shopping, and we take the puppies to the park everyday together. We have not hung out this much ever! Life is good now, hubby needs me and loves me, and I am so lucky to have him around. Got to get dressed, hubby wants me to take him out and about.
Weather is pretty normal for this time of the year, we should get to 42 degrees today, and by Wednesday or Thursday, we may hit 60 degrees!! :)
