Wow good luck John with the drive tomorrow hopefully it will be clean for your drive.
It has started here & Yonge and 401. It shifted from rain to snow already and the cars are now white. It's going to be a mess in the am... I think I will stay put and work remotely.

Still snowing here. Had a 3 hr break this afternoon between bands of snow so I got the sidewalks cleared and the driveway too. I use our neighbors snowblower so I do their driveway, sidewalks and deck first. Then I do ours. They don't mind at all and they even buy the gas. During the summer I mow there yard with my mower since its self propelled. They are in there 60's and I know the guy just had knee surgery this winter. They are like family to us. We always do cook outs with them, exchange Christmas presents, bake each other cookies and such. From the very first day we moved in, they have been great. They came over and introduced them and said if we ever need anything, just ask. If it wasn't for them, I don't know if we would still be in our house. We have talked about moving before, but we would miss them too much.

Fortunately their plane doesn't get in until 10 pm, so we should be OK. Close to midnight when we head home. They're getting on the first plane right about now. Three separate flights in all!

Safe travels, John.
Wow, Ryan, those sound like ideal neighbors to me. Yes, sometimes you realize your neighbors are the best you'll ever get. I only have one close neighbor, and they are pretty ignorant. LOL Kind of like white trash really, but they stay to themselves, so it's ok. Nothing like good neighbors, though, I sure agree on that!

Take it easy John and stay away from the idiot drivers or I guess if you are one then they will have to hope you stay away from them
Oh just kidding there old fella! Hope you and your family have a safe trip and it is nice to have family close and good neighbors also Ryan. We have all good neighbors here in our cul de sac of 5 homes. Everyone looks out for each other. Funny tho when we get our little bit of snow we get here sometimes the old guy across the road gets out his big riding mower and attaches the snowplow to it and plows the whole road. No need to really do that here but he likes to do it so let him have at it if it makes him happy

Yes have a safe trip John! Our snowstorm yesterday only dumped a couple inches on snow, but there sure was a lots of "fender Benders" on the way down town yesterday. Roads were very icy in the morning, but I just out the turck in 4 wheel, that goodness for that!

Pretty cold this morning, around 12f, ponds have thin layer of ice, but I won't plug the heater in cause this afternoon it's supposed to be up to 35F. :)

Glad you got your heater going, Lou. Is that your house in your avatar???? Wow, that's a beauty! Can't wait to see your new landscaping around that gorgeous mansion.
Yep, it was good to get the downstairs heat back. Tech had the needed part in his van. Thanks for complimenting our home CE. Attractive yes, mansion no. :)). We would like to downsize but that's not to be. Besides, we couldn't take our pond with us!

I had 1 two story house and hated the steps .I did not downsize when I retired though ,I actually upsized other house was 2400 sq. ft. and this house is 2440 sq. ft. .Only 40 sq. ft. more but at least it is on one floor .I thought about selling this but only because of land .But it really is my dream retirement house and set up to be open and ready to go for wheel chair or what ever .I could sell the other 2 lots but would put neighbors close .I do love your arched window it really makes the house lou .It feels like spring here today sun is out and already in the high 40's .

40 F. this morning, and got maybe 6" of snow overnight. All slush now, and heavy as Hades to shovel! Speaking of good neighbours.... Our next-door neighbour blew out most of the driveway before I even got up, but the plow came through and filled in the 15' or so up near the road. I had just gone out to clear it when a young guy om a 4-wheeler with a plow stopped on the road, shifted into low gear, and backed into the driveway. He waved to me, said "I'm doing my good deed for the day!", and with three swaths all the slush was pushed into the ditch across the road. He then proceeded to do the same for the neighbour's drive, and I heard him plowing the next drive, which is over the hill from us. I have no idea who he is, but his help was really appreciated!!

Well the snow has finally stopped. After 34 hours of snow we are done at 12.4 inches. They only said we would get one inch at the most. Got home from work and did the normal snow blower duties. Snow was so deep I had to get the other neighbors snow blower that was a 2 stage to clear our front driveway. They are calling for more snow on Monday. If this keeps up, our drought issue will be less of a issue come spring time.
