Now, now we are just having a few days of sunshine................still freezing at night tho and no blooms whatsoever anywhere in sight. But did get to walk up today again in the sunshine to see more little babies born last night at my friends house up the road. This time it was goats. Here they are and all little boy kids!

Got 3 dollars worth of nice red, pink and purple construction paper and sat down last night and cut hearts for the one I love..... My sweet pea is getting better every day. He looks great and is eating good and moving around quite a bit these days. :)

Wonderful news Colleen. I'm sure your dear one loved your hearts.

Awwwwwww ... Lamancha kids! Sorry to hear they are all buck kids, but maybe that is a good thing. With the dairy goat breeds, owners usually want does, to milk, but maybe your friends have them for pets. Around here, when my daughter and I raised dairy goats and showed them at County, State and National levels, we prayed for at least one doe when they kidded. Twins and triplets are more common than a single kid, and I think even quads are, too. Only time a goat has a single kid, usually, is first time mom's and if the mom is very old. There you go, Goat 101! LOL Thanks for the "springtime" photo! I loved it, keep them coming.
Got a dusting of snow last night, deck is covered, but barely. 30 so far, but things are trying to melt around here.

Cloudy with some sun and 44F. Just noticed one of my lilies has three leaves and a bud coming up. Really surprised its not like we've had a lot of sun and warm temps. In fact pond was almost completely iced over a week ago. I hope I get a lot of flowers this year.
We use to have goats when my children were young. We milked them and besides drinking the milk I use to make cheese and cottage cheese.

Addy, I have one of those Davis weather stations, a VP2. Absolutely love it.
Weather makes so much more sense now, lol.

Our weather, at our house, is never the same as what they say is the official weather for frederick. We are usually cooler, more rain. I love seeing the wind howling and with a glance know how much it is howling! The worse rain fall rate we had was 17.58 inches an hour, it was unreal!

Those are such cuties JW how darn cute, now if the lil goats would stay that tiny. We have a friend that keeps trying to get us to get goats.

Goats are tons of fun, even as adults. Our first goat was given to us on Jan. 2, his mother died having his twin, and the owner didn't want to bottle feed him. We named him after the guy who gave him to us, Welch. That goat (we got him neutered) got VERY large! He was the size of a small pony, a Nubian (think hanging down floppy ears), and liked to be the center of attention. Of course, he never knew he was a goat until that following August, so for the first 8 months, he thought he was human. And, he would protect us if company came. LOL My children were I think 9 and 10 at the time, and their friends were not allowed close to the children. If they got too close, Welch would get in between them, and then cock his head in a "watch out, or I'll butt you!". If the children didn't pay attention, he DID! I saw him do that to an unsuspecting adult once. I watched the scenario unfold from too far to warn the adult, and BAM, Welch knocked that man on his butt! It was funny, but not really, because the goat warned him, but the man didn't pay attention to the warning. I'm always amazed at how animals communicate with us, if we would just watch and listen to them.
Sun came out this afternoon, but windy. About 33 now. Ponds thawing more and should be totally open this coming week, temps going into the 40's all week. I think spring is just around the corner myself.

Wow, that's a lot!

I have my sights set on getting an add on lightning detector next. I've heard that they're pretty accurate.

I need to look into that, we get some wild storms here.

Colleen the river near us went out of its banks, some street flooding , nothing major luckily. This area did not allow homes to be build in the flood plains of the river. It mainly floods farm land.

Yep glad we are on a hill, we had rivers running down our slopes.
