Same here, but I'm thrilled, both ponds are fully thawed out. That heater in the koi pond put in yesterday with air bubbler running, thawed it out completely during the night, along with the warmer temps. Will have to post here to see WHAT the warmer temp is, tv says it's 50! Holy cow, I'm loving it! Supposed to get up to 60 today, 57 for "low" tonight. Unblievable. 67 tomorrow, and 44 on Wed. Then back to freezing on Thurs, and 20's for high on Fri. Oh well, I'm going to sure enjoy these warmer temps while I can!!!

16 degrees right now, supposed to get to 30 Fahrenheit latter this afternoon. Then we drop off tuesday, but should warm back up by Thursday. It still is considered a mild winter for us, I remember lots of years when it was very very cold for weeks on end, with days of minus 40 and below. One year when I was still in the army, back in the early 90,s, we had snow in August! Then when I was a very young girl I remember lots of brown Christmas's and warm winter's back in the 70 & 80's. :)

When I lived in this area as a kid, my dad would stomp the first snow fall down then go out every night and spray the snow with a hose. We would then ice skate in the back yard the rest of the winter, Bumpy ice full of holes. The first time I tried to skate on a rink, smooth ice, it was very tough being used to bumps holes twigs, leaves etc lol

Warming up to mid 40s tonight with thunderstorms, then cooling off in the afternoon tomorrow. Weird weather we have going on. Pond is completely ice free right now. Got out the pond vac and sucked out some more leaves. Did about a 5% water change while I was at it. Currently changing rooms around for the kids. 5 yr old is moving downstairs where her brothers room was. Building him a new room in the corner of the basement. Moved Edens room to her sisters old room and Edens old room is the daycare room. Now none of the kids have to share there rooms with the daycare kids. Should have the room downstairs done in the next few weeks.

My weather banner is showing it's still 59 here! OMG, is that crazy or what? This is January 28, last time I looked, not May 28. Temp has actually risen since I left work, when it was 57. Warmer yet tomorrow, they said close to 70. Yikes!!! No wonder so many people sick with that nasty flu, vomiting and diarrhea, and lasting for 3-5 days.
Tomorrow after work I'll get big pump pulled, taken apart and cleaned, and see if I can get the Skippy thawed out (going to have to remove the 2 sheets of foam insulation board so it had melt on top, I think). Hoping to get all running water moving, and at this point, the waterfall is the only thing that is not operating.

It's 58 here this morning, absolutely heavenly outside. Snow geese are flying around in HUGE flocks, trying to figure out where to land and feed on corn. I only have soy beans on all sides of my house, but corn fields are right after those fields. They are loud birds, much louder it seems than Canada geese. Next year all fields around me will be corn, so hopefully they will come closer where I can photograph them. I never knew about snow geese until I moved out here. They fly in flocks that are sometimes 100 times as many as typical Canada geese flocks. I guess they are much more sociable. But, they are much more of a nuisance, too. I've seen flocks that I watched for 5 minutes go by my house, and STILL didn't see the end. Yep, that's huge. I think I was counting that time, figured 50 geese per mini flock, and was well over 5,000 by the time I quit watching. I'll video them if I get the chance some morning or weekend. I think it's a spectacular sight myself.

Oh yuck for you, Lou! It's cloudy, rain possible all day, light winds and kind of gloomy, but when I'm faced with 20 degrees as the alternative, I'll take the 60-70 and rain! Frost seems to be out of the ground, pretty squishy out there. That will change, too. I need to seed my pastures when it's still frozen, hopefully I'll time it right before the last thaw out, so the seeds will squish into the top layer of mud.
