Last night was awful with the winds. I had to finally take a sleep aid to get to sleep, the wind was howling at my west bedroom window. I cannot imagine people who go through high winds like this on the coasts. I think the gusts got up to 50 mph or something like that. The temps only got down to the low 20's last night, but the winds put us in single digits as far as what it felt like. You could NOT walk, the wind knocked you down. I heard this evening of a couple of wrecks on the interstate last night. I guess one car "slid" off the interstate (no snow on the highway, so must have been the winds) and then another car slid at the same place, they both ended up in the median. Then a third car slid, hit one of the cars pushed it into the other car. What a bummer! And, also a semi was blown over onto it's side in the winds. My truck was really having a hard time of it, so I can only imagine an empty semi trailer! I was glad to get home, and glad I was not traveling north or south! Those winds out of the west would have been shoving you all day.
My daughter got home yesterday from UT. She missed her first flight, looked at the flight home info instead of leaving info. Then, on the connection, the next 3 flights to St. Louis were all booked, she was put on stand-by, but when she arrived in Denver, the lady at the gate said she was given a seat. She arrived only 30 minutes late from original plan. Her brother went to pick her up and they are hanging out today. I think my son bought his first Christmas tree today, they were shopping together. Bet that was a fun time for both of them!
Glad you got to stay home, Brandonsdad, and are now off work until Jan. 7. Sounds like you work in a school ....
