Not dark here yet!
Not dark here yet!
We finally got to see it! Not much to see w/the naked eye but w/snaps from my hubby's phone it showed up way better! Not as good of photo's as you guys took but at least it was here to see!The second substorm of the night hit just after 11pm and lasted over an hour. It was not as visible as the first but was arguably better on camera. Third substorm seems like it might occur in the next hour, so I'm waiting for that... but I'm getting tired.

We're OK. Milton WAS a monster storm. We were north of landfall, which was the windier (gusts ~100MPH), rainier (15+ inches of rain in less than 24 hours) side. A few hours were scary-on-steroids. Personally, my family (including fish and box turtle) is safe and no damage to our houses. Trees lost some limbs and many branches. Area-wide, there are many damaged homes, trees down, people still without power, and rivers are flooding (from the rainfall). Hurricane Helene damage is still here, too. But the sun is shining (really). I feel like the Groundhog who predicts how many more weeks of winter up north ... there are only 6 more weeks of official hurricane season!Milton is a monster storm. Hang on.
