The comet is still very photographable but I can't see it anymore. Just too faint for my eyes.

I hadn't gotten a chance to share this one yet but I took this on Tuesday. It's my favorite of them all. I don't normally spend much time editing my photos but I experimented with image stacking on this one. Basically, you take a photo of the same scene multiple times and then overlay them all on each other. It's not the most fun process but it definitely helped smooth out the grain and bring out the comet's tail a bit more.

Snow is on the way. Not a lot. We're in the 1"-3" range but this time of year it usually ends up being the lesser amount and melts on its own.

Well, this is more than I expected. it does seem to be melting a bit, the driveway only has maybe 1"-2" on it, but birdfeeders and other objects have at least 3".

Radar shows it's rotating down from the north, so we may be in it for a while.

Edit: I take it back, it's converting to rain quickly.

Just broke the first skim of ice off the pond to scoop the leaves. Such unusual weather in Vermont! It's usually snowing by October. Frogbit and salvinia never died. Had to scoop it out green and healthy looking last week.

It's 18°F out.

To be honest I completely forgot about putting in the aerator because I didn't realize it was going to get so cold. I'm not seeing much warmth in the forecast, either. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the pump going but there's quite a bit of ice around the waterfall currently.

It's supposed to be slightly warmer Tuesday so I'll probably get the heater in then and wait for it to melt a hole in the ice.

It is awfully early for it to be this cold here. Lows in the 20's and upper teens. Highs 30's to low 40's on the warmest days. A few days with very light snow showers all day. January/February weather for sure.

Pond is covered and water is staying in mid 50's. With the sun making its appearance today, it was 70 degrees in there. I wanted to spend my whole day in there.

Suddenly there's warm weather in our forecast. much better than the teens we've been seeing.

It's snowing out. A few minutes before I took this it was nearly a white out. It's also supposed to be really cold tonight and tomorrow. Windchills as low as -15F

2"-4" of snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I don't really want to have to clean it up but sure seems likely that we'll get enough that I have no choice. Looks like next week we may be back up in the 40's for awhile.
