All ok here. Stormy weather, lots of rain, and a tornado a few miles away. (This is Florida. What's up with all these tornadoes?!) Stay warm, northern people. @rubyduby and I won't complain about our temperatures "plunging" below 60 degrees. No worries until they're cold enough, below the mid30s, to freak out the plants.

Love that tropical @j.w whats it called
It's a Chinese Windmill Palm. The hardiest palm that I know of but it won't live in places much colder than here. I'm in zone 8b and when it was very young during the very cold winter I had to cover them. Two still died but this one made it thankfully. Now it can take our cold freezes! I started them from seed I got from the zoo in Seattle prolly abt 15 yrs ago or so.

Love it ,

If i had to box them up for the winter wrap them in a blanket, I would guess i'll have to settle for tree stumps and cedar

I've read about people back east protecting them. I guess it can be done but a lot of work!

Forecasts are showing we might get about 8" of snow tomorrow. It'd be a big relief to not get the 12"-18" we were originally expecting. It's still possible, though.
